Winter Ball

I'm so sorry for the mistakes in posting the previous chapter. I apologize, there was an error in the dialogues and they all came together, but I already solved it. I hope you enjoy and tonight I update the next part.

 Sunday.

A day in which practically everyone rests but the royal palace (including me).

Today will be chaos, and to emphasize how exhausting it will be, I point out that I didn't sleep at all yesterday. After talking to Simon, I lay awake thinking about the mention of the lake. I still couldn't wrap my head around how he found out about my dream and worse, how he dared to use it as an excuse to talk to me again.

I have dark bags around my eyes, and on my head, a tangled nest of what looks like hair.

I turn on the shower. I've said it's going to be a pretty heavy day but Esther will be joining me and that makes it less worse, shall we say. Just a little.

After breakfast with my mom and dad, I'll pick out my winter tuxedo and from there I'll see what's next on my list.I always think better underwater, that's a fact.

In the shower is where I organize myself, my thoughts and ideas best. I could even create a whole speech here, under the shower flooded with the scent of apples and honey.So I already have my to-do list:

1.Get Simon out of my head.

2.Choose the music, select the snacks....

3.Forget Simon.

4.Rehearse the ball steps.

5.Choosing with Esther what we will say at the opening of the ceremony.

6.Think about something other than Simon.

Esther is already waiting for me outside Hillerska, attached to the limousine in a big purple cotton jacket, gloves and cap.

-I'm looking forward to joining you today," she twiddles her fingers over her steaming coffee after we get in.

-No doubt," I answer, entering after her, "you will be very surprised, here the balls (especially in winter) are very important.... Although, to tell you the truth, I'll be the one who gets the surprise.

SHe turned to look at her with a raised eyebrow.

-Why?

-Because of how you'll look that day, of course!

-How corny you are," she laughs at me. "About that I'm going out tonight with Mia to buy what I'll wear that day."

-Really? -I smile at her. "How are things going between you two?"

I get really excited. So does she. Her cheeks now look like two apples.

-Better," she bites her lip. "Better than ever".

-You guys are serious, huh?" -I encourage her. "I want details".

-Well, I want it to work, and I need Mia to trust me enough to take the first step.... Does that sound absurd to you?

-No. Not at all. You know what you're doing and that Esther, that's key to a good relationship.<<If only we had known what we were doing>>.

-Good, because at this point I wouldn't want to ruin anything. I'm looking for the perfect place and the perfect time," he looks at the frozen streets outside. She sighs. She's the person I want to experience love in its fullness with.I smile and nod, close my eyes.
