Two Years Before the Actually Starts... One Year After Bruce Becomes the Batman...

Bruce Wayne's P.O.V.

I walked into the Bat Cave after a long night of patrolling. I was glad to be back, and when I walked up to the main computer I found Alfred. He must've heard me because he turned in his seat to face me as I approached.

"What are you looking at, Alfred?" I asked, looking up at the big screen.

"Your profile, sir," Alfred stated.

I raised a brow in confusion. "My profile?" I looked closer at the screen and my eyes widened. "You signed me up on a dating app?"

I gave Alfred a look, but he only shrugged.

"Just because the Batman doesn't have a life, doesn't mean Bruce Wayne should not have one either."

I rolled my eyes and sighed. My eyes glanced up to see a profile picture of a beautiful woman with long black hair and emerald green eyes. She wore in a business suit, which made her look very professional. I didn't say this about a lot of women, but she was breathtaking. I glanced at her name, 'Eleanor Allen'. I had a feeling I recognized the name, but I couldn't remember why. Alfred glanced at me and then at the picture. He typed something and I saw he messaged her.

"Alfred!" I exclaimed, but he simply got up and pushed me into the chair.

"The Batman is not needed now," Alfred stated, winking at me with a grin.

I sighed and looked up at the screen to see that Eleanor had replied.

"Hello!" She replied. "I'm Eleanor, but you can call me Ella. Everyone does."

I smiled and began to type a reply.

"Hey," I replied. "I'm Bruce."

"It's nice to meet you, Bruce. What's a handsome guy like you doing on a dating app like this?"

"I could ask the same thing about you. But, to be honest, I don't find much time to get out and meet someone. This is very much a shot in the dark for me."

"I completely understand. I'm always too busy with work, and by the time I've finished work, I'm much too exhausted to think about hitting up a bar or any social event. As for why I'm here... Tbh, didn't think I'd really find anyone who's my type. This is also a shot in the dark for me."

"It seems that we're kindred spirits."

"I'll say! What do you do for a living?"

"I own a company that works in research and development."

"Oh wow, that's awesome! I'm a reporter, but my biggest love is science. Not to say that I don't love my job, but if I had the opportunity to work in some kind of lab I certainly wouldn't pass it up."

"You must be the brains of the family. What kind of science are you interested in?"

"Any kind really, as long as it's advanced. My major was bio-chem, and journalism was my minor. I love a good challenge, and I want to be diverse in my career options. And yes, my brother and I are brainiacs, he also loves science. But while he's more into physics, I'm much more into chemistry."

"You can definitely find a lot of comfortable jobs with a degree like that. So why be a journalist? Not that I think journalism isn't a good choice in career."

"Well, it stems from a family tragedy that happened when I was a kid. Since then I've always been passionate about detective work, but I didn't want to be a police officer. Investigative journalism seemed to be the right move. Would it be out of line to ask where you live?"

"Not at all. I live in Gotham."

"So do I! Maybe one day we can get together and talk more about this :D"

I smiled and thought for a second. Ella seemed pleasant enough, and she definitely wasn't the dumb type. No offense to any other girl, but most I had tried dating weren't the brightest and were usually after my money. But Ella seemed different. I decided to take a leap of faith.

"Are you busy tomorrow?" I asked.

"Depends at what time."

"Maybe dinner around 8?"

"Sure! Where?"

"Wherever you want to go."

"Well, nothing fancy. How about at that nice cafe down near 45th Street?"

I've been there before. Well, when I was stopping a robbery that is.

"I'll see you then."

"Alright, sounds good! I should get some sleep, I have work tomorrow. Goodnight Bruce :)"

"Goodnight Ella."

I sighed and looked up at Alfred.

"She seems like a good catch sir," Alfred stated.

I nodded and looked up at her picture one more time. She really was one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen.

"I just hope the Batman isn't needed around eight tomorrow," I said.

The Batwave went off and my screen changed. Time for the Batman to work.

:Guys I promise this gets better when we get into the actual series lol:
