Volume: ▁▂▃▄▅▆▇ 100%The Kim girl thought she woke up pretty damn early, but Yilin, Minghao and Sicheng were already at the dining table discussing work when Soyeon came down the stairs.
Folders and papers scattered the table in disorderly stacks, and their discussion appeared to be getting heated. They were talking in quick, low tones, all having some what disagreeing expressions on their faces. Although Soyeon was well-versed with the language, she still couldn't quite make out what they were saying. But whatever it was, it must have been something confidential seeing how they unanimously went quiet when she approached.
"The sleeping beauty has awoken," the Dong boy smiled warmly. "Come and have breakfast." He moved the stacks of papers aside with Yilin's help. Minghao had risen from his seat to get breakfast for Soyeon from the kitchen.
When he returned, the Kim girl thanked him.
Neither Sicheng's scary sister nor the butler who followed the woman around all the time could be seen anywhere in sight.
"Your sister left?" Soyeon made a guess.
The Dong boy hummed his affirmation. "She had matters to attend to in Beijing so she took the family plane last night." He side-eyed her. "We'll be taking the High-Speed Rail, hope you don't mind?"
Of course Soyeon didn't. Her family wasn't poor, but it wasn't exactly like they were rich rich. She travelled to and fro with public transport all the time. "No, it's cool. How long does it take?"
"7 hours with G58," the reply came from Yilin this time. "No wait, make that 8 factoring in the travelling time from this manor to the train station."
"Concerning accuracy," Sicheng said. "But right, nonetheless. It takes a good half a day getting there by train." He checked the watch on his wrist, "We should get going in fifteen minutes if we want to catch the G58 train."
Minghao had returned with a plate of toasted bread and a cup of coffee. "Hope you don't mind these," the Xu boy set them down, looking slightly apologetic. "It's all I can find here." He glanced at Sicheng. "For such a big house, there sure are little edibles."
The Dong boy shrugged, "We don't live here often. Our main quarters are in Shanghai and Beijing."
Ah yes, the more bustling places.
"Rich flex," Yilin muttered not so quietly nor under her breath, and a corner of Sicheng's lips twitched.
The younger girl was dressed in a fit that went completely against her kickass, tough personality and the contrast amused Soyeon.
"Nice fit," she touched the silky sleeves of Yilin's baby pink off-shoulder. "Where did you get it from?"
The Chinese girl shrugged, a shoulder lifting in a single fluid movement. "Thanks, Tzuyu got it for me, so I've no idea."
