"Mom, how do you know your friends are her parents?" Asked Deku as he was setting the table.
"Didn't I already tell you?" Inko, who was busy cooking rice replied. Izuku shook his head.
"Well when I was watching Katsuki's fight during the Sports Festival, I recognised his opponent's last name: Uraraka. I had friends in high school called Aisu Uraraka (Ochaco's mother) and her boyfriend Habu." (Ochaco's father)(I know they don't have canon names, so I just decided to name them after types of tea since Ocha from Ochaco means tea.
Aisu=Iced Habu=Herbal)"After we graduated, Aisu and Haba got married and started their business and I've kept in touch with them, but we haven't actually seen each other in person ever since."
'They got married after graduating? Then left not long after that. That means they haven't seen my mom in about 23 years. Uraraka's parents must really be busy most of the time.' Izuku thought as he finished setting the table. When he did, he turned around and asked another question.
"Did they tell you they had a daughter?"
"Yes, they did, but I've never met her in person. And I, of course, told them about you."
"If that's so, how come you've never introduced me to them?"
"Well I wanted to, but I knew how busy they would be with work." Inko turned to her son with a warm smile and her eyes closed. "Besides, I wanted to dedicate as much time as I could to raising you Izuku."Deku blushed slightly and smiled. Even back when he was a kid cursed with no quirk, he knew that being Inko's son was a wonderful blessing.
"Need a hand with anything else?" He asked.
"Yes, please. If you could start cutting up the beef, then that would be great." Inko replied.
"Sure thing." Said Izuku. He went to the sink and washed his hands before getting started with the beef when he asked another question.
"What are Aisu and Haba like?"
"Huh? Well, both of them are really friendly and quite talkative as well. Aisu has always been bubbly and upbeat, but not so much that it's overbearing and Habu is equally as upbeat but tends to be more serious."
'Sounds like the apple doesn't fall that far then.' Deku thought to himself. As Izuku kept dicing the beef, Inko decided that it was her turn to ask a question.
"So, what's Ochaco like?"
"Huh!?" Squeaked Izuku, who was blushing. "Well... Uhh... I suppose she's not that different from her parents. She's always laid back, friendly and positive. But she gets pretty serious about more competitive things like the Sports Festival. She's fun to be around and cares a lot about her friends..." Izuku went silent and stopped what he was doing. Inko looked over at him and saw him gazing down and smiling. His cheeks were a slight shade of dark pink.
"Izuku. The beef." Deku snapped out of his little trance and responded.
"O-Oh yeah! Sorry!" And he started quickly cutting again.
"Watch your fingers, honey."
"Right."It didn't take long for Izuku to finish with the beef and get started with red peppers while his mother was preparing some onions. As they were doing that, they heard a knock on the door.
"Who could that be?" Deku asked and Inko started freaking out.
"Don't tell me they're here already!"
"Wait. What do you mean?"
"They weren't supposed to arrive until 7:00!" Izuku looked at the clock.
"It's 5:46!" He exclaimed.
"Well, there's no point stressing about it. Let's just welcome them in." Said Inko as she was removing her apron. She walked over to the door and opened it to greet the people on the outside."Inko!" Shouted two overly excited voices. Inko was happily embraced by a small woman with brown hair and a large man with dark tan skin and blonde hair.
"Aisu! Habu! It's so good to see you two!" Inko exclaimed excitedly, with teary eyes.
"It's great to see you too, Inko!" Exclaimed Habu.
"We missed you so much!" Shouted Aisu. They separated and Aisu grabbed Inko's hands and kept talking.
"How long has it been? 20 years? I'm sorry we haven't spoken for so long."
"Don't worry about it. I know how- uh." Inko stopped when she saw a short brown-haired girl with a blush like Aisu's awkwardly standing there and smiling.
