~~Evelyn Dayne~~
I stand now with a half dozen men, captains all, underneath the war tent. King Robb stands in the back, watching me as I look at the officers which I have chosen.
"Many of you probably don't know me. Many of you probably do. I've had the honor of fighting alongside some of you at the Whispering Wood."
I step forward, looking around.
"Together...we will bring the Lannisters down. Together...we will bring them to their knees. Together..we will free the North. Captains all, to this end, I wish to introduce to you our new marshall of our campaign."
I point towards the tent flap, seeing Lady Mormont standing their and I smile.
"Lady Mormont of Bear Island. Her experience in battle should need no recitation. You know of her. Some of you have had the honor fighting alongside her."
Some of the officers look at her, nodding their heads slightly.
"I have tasked her with this new position for one most vital reason alone: she respects war as only a man or woman who has seen it's most monstrous form can. She lusts after it not. She is a mother moreover. Someone who has something to lose, something that if given into the monster that is war, would lose it all."
I say, now standing in front of her. I nod and stand aside.
"Welcome, and thank you, my lords. You're all well met. Evelyn is right. War is the most monstrous thing created by man. But some wars need to be fought. For if we don't fight this one, the North and all her children will forever be on their knees."
~~Lady Mormont~~
The King in the North sits in his war tent, the Lady of Bear Island across from him. The sounds of the camp outside ringing out. Evelyn prepares her army outside, ready to leave but Robb holds the Lady back.
"Why have you asked for me, Your Grace?"
She asks but Robb remains silent for a long time before finally answering.
"I don't know how long this war will be. I don't know if I will survive it... I need an heir in case that occasion occurs."
Lady Mormont raises a brow.
"I want my half brother, Jon Snow, to be first in line. But if anything were to happen to him and I, I want Evelyn to be the North's ruler."
"My King? Are you sure of this?"
She asks and he nods.
"I'm not sure how susceptible the North will be to have a Queen."
"If their King falls, and my brother either doesn't leave the Wall or something happens to him, the North will have their Queen."
~~Evelyn Dayne~~
I make my way through the camp, making it to the back end of it.
"Ah, Lady Dayne. Good of you to visit your friend, the Kingslayer."
Jaime Lannister speaks out. It's quite the predicament he's in, I'd say. Covered in mud, piss and his own shit. Literally a caged animal.
"You should speak to me more kindly, Kingslayer, given your circumstances."
"Oh I won't be in this for long."
I sigh, shaking my head.
"How many weeks has it been since Whispering Woods?"
I ask and Jaime loses the confident look in his eyes. He looks to the ground, shivering slightly.
"Your father hasn't come for you. He's been getting beat at every turn."
"The lion will always be stronger than the wolf."
Jaime growls out and I nod.
"The lion may be stronger than the wolf..."
I lean a bit closer to the cage.
"But you'd never see the wolf in a circus."
Jaime looks up, losing the glare but instead just stares at me. I stare back for a few moments before turning on my heels.
"It will be some time before we see one another, Lannister."
"Evelyn, wait."
I turn around, seeing Jaime look up at me with a solemn look.
"To be most effective in combat a warrior must not feel for her enemy..."
He says and I turn my head in confusion.
"The road ahead is long and unforgiving... No place for a girl. You have to be a warrior if you wish to survive."
"Why are you telling me this?"
I ask and Jaime looks down.
"Out of respect for your father."
He mumbles before turning away from me. I stand there for a few moments, looking at him in a new light before turning around and walking away.
