~~Evelyn Dayne~~
I trudge through the silent camp, making my way to my tent. I've been awake for days, I can't take it anymore.
I slump onto the floor, eyes drooping until they finally fall shut.
"Evelyn!"
My eyes snap open and I see a glowing Daenerys rushing over to me.
"Evelyn! Why haven't I been able to see you? What is happening?"
She asks in a rushed voice, panic and worry evident in her eyes.
"Daenerys..."
Her hand reaches up, trying to embrace my cheek but it passes through like the dozens of times before.
"Evelyn, why couldn't I see you? It's been days! What..what-"
"Dany."
I say, cutting her off. She stops and looks to me and the then to my sleeping body slumped over on the ground.
"I'm tired..."
I whisper, feeling my eyes droop.
"Why haven't I been able to see you? I thought I was going mad."
"I haven't slept in days. We are being hunted like prey. But now we're cornered."
"Cornered? What do you mean?"
I sigh heavily, looking at Daenerys sadly.
"My end is near, Dany."
"No..."
She whispers, shaking her head with tears stinging her eyes.
"No, no, no that's not true!"
"It is. Tomorrow we face Adwin Lannister."
"I don't give a shit who you are facing, you'll defeat them!"
"I've lost more than half my men. The Black Lion has 30,000 armored knights ready to slaughter us by tomorrow."
Tears stream down her face and I want more than anything right now to wipe them from her cheeks, soothing her problems away.
"No.... I-I haven't even gotten the chance to see you in person... Y-You cannot die."
"Valar Morghulis."
"No! You are not all men, you are not a man at all! You are my...my friend. My first true friend I've ever had and you cannot die, I forbid it!"
She shouts through her tears as Daenerys fully breaks down. I feel tears sting my eyes as I can do nothing but watch her sorrow.
"High in the halls of the kings who are gone...
Jenny would dance with her ghosts...The ones she had lost and the ones she had found..
And the ones who had loved her the most."
I whisper out, trying to remember all the words right and make it sound half decent. Daenerys still has tears but they are silent as she listens to my attempts at soothing her.
"The ones who'd been gone for so very long
She couldn't remember their names...They spun her around on the damp old stones
Spun away all her sorrow and pain...And she never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave
Never wanted to leave, never wanted to leave...."
My little song comes to a soft end as I feel my voice finally stop. Daenerys and I remain sitting on the ground, staring at one another.
She shifts slightly, sitting even closer to me. She gets very close, close enough for me to feel her breath almost nibbling on my lips.
"You will survive. I forbid you to pass on in this life without me. I refuse."
"And what of the gods and their say in how things play out tomorrow?"
"The gods can continue playing their little games. They will not take you."
She holds her hand up, mimicking the caressing of my cheek.
"You need to make today yours. Never forget what you fight for. Make it yours, Evelyn Dayne."
I chuckle softly, nodding.
"I'll see you someday, Princess."
