Beio is driving the ship letting the two girls sleep in the sleeping area. They both had bad bags under their eyes so it only made sense for him to drive since he never liked sleeping and he never overworked himself. It was always who he was, a laid-back kind of Irken who never really looked too deep into something even if it troubles him. Even when he was sent to battle a war or conquer a new planet the Tallest found interesting, he never really tried, he just couldn't find any fun in war and death. When he found out he wasn't the only one to think this making two new friends in the past 11 thousand years, he finally felt the need to do something, to stop the war and to try and make peace. It would just be an easier life and a more fulfilling one too if he could just make a friend of a different species of alien, not worry if he may lose one or 20 hundred friends along the way. He smiled to himself knowing that someday, peace would be an option for his kind and that he could be one reason it could be possible.

"What are you smiling about?" A mysterious voice comes from the side of him.

He jumped up and he started to stand on his robotic legs with a laser gun pointing in the direction the voice come from.

"The jumpy type I see, been to war a lot?" The voice came from Bary who was still calm with guns point right to her face.

Beio calmed down slowly and started to begin sitting down again, though he was still tense. "Ya, I've been to at least 100 of them so far. It doesn't get any easier the more it happens..."

"You and your friend don't seem to enjoy it as much as the other Irkens, or should I say, you two don't pretend to enjoy. You guys do it to fit in but fail miserably when you see a comrade die in front of you, you forget to fit in and go off of emotions." She stares out the window off to a distant rock in the black abyss.

Beio stayed silent. It wasn't very often some random alien tried to go against an Irken or even make such a bold statement in front of one.

"My brother was the same, though he was much more foolish and ended up an outcast from my Species. He showed too many emotions." Although it was hard to hear, her voice had started to crack.

"Is that why you always seem like a stick in the mud when you talk? So Monotone and boring, you should get that fixed! Try telling a joke!" He gave a small smile.

"..." she was thinking of something that would be considered funny and she stood silent for a few minutes before noticing the bee on Beio's mini pocket, "why do bees have sticky hair? ...Because they use honeycombs." She continues to talk in a monotone voice, but with a bit of joy at the end.

There was dead silence.

Then Beio erupts into laughter.

"That was a horrible joke, I love it! And the way you didn't put any effort into it just made it better!" He continues to laugh while watching the road.

Bary looked at him and gave a small smile. She wasn't used to someone generally enjoying something she said. Although it was weird to her, she didn't mind the feeling of a bigger smile creeping onto her face slowly the more he laughed.

"You got any more? I could use the jokes if I'm gonna be on this ship with that grump in the back, she can't let loose even a little!" He whined.

"Uh, what's the worst part about space travel? You have to planet!"

Beio starts to burst out laughing again and Bary began to giggle. This went on for a couple of hours as the two of them joked around, but then a beeping sound started and Beio checked the gas was getting low.

"Aw shot, the gas is getting low..." he wiped his head around trying I find a gas station.

"What about that one?" Bary pointed to one that was up ahead.

"Huh, perfect timing..." Beio squints his eyes, "oh it's an Irken station that's why it's so convenient. You need to hide in the back otherwise they'll try to arrest you."

She nods her head and walks off to the back as Beio pulls up. He gets out and starts to fuel the ship. As Bary walked into the room, she noticed that Jackie's head was the only body on her bed the other parts were lazily laying on the floor as she softly snores. It was unusual for Bary to see an Irken as tried as the lady was in front of her, they were trained and evolved to not need sleep so when they are in battle, they can fight 24/7. But Jackie was different in that way, she needed to sleep, and she was so tired that she wasn't even able to get her whole body o to the bed. What was that word the Irkens used when one wasn't like the others? She could not remember, but whatever it was, Jackie was different and unique. It wasn't until Bary heard the door open that she snapped out of her focus and turned her head to see Beio.

"Hey there! I see Jackie is still asleep." Beio hands over to Bary two bags, to which she gave a confused face. "Ya I got you and Jackie a snack in that bag, the other bag is for me when I end up getting hungry... actually I think I might take the bag now...maybe I should get more food..." Beio thinks for a second before sighing, "I'll be back, I need to get more food for me and when I end up starving. Take care of Jackie while I'm gone, byee~" He walks out the door with a slam which ended up waking Jackie up.

"Brrr AAAA ago!" Jackie looks around panicky "what the? What aren't we moving?!" Jackie walked up to the doorway and Didn't see Beio on the wheel, "WHERE IS BEIO?!" She was shouting now forgetting about the smaller alien that was next beside her.

Just as Jackie was about to rush into the building and kill Beio for being an inconfident pilot, she felt a tug at her elbow.

"Uh...Beio went back inside to get more food, and he also got food for us." She digs in the bag and gave some food to Jackie.

"Oh please, Irkens don't need to eat anything!" she softly pushes the food back to Bary, "how else do you think we survived the countless amount of times we lost all of the food because of our Tallest? Just give Beio my portion of food and tell him I don't need nor want it." She rolls her eyes as she walks over to her bed and lays on it.

Bary looked surprised, Irkens didn't need to eat either? Maybe it's just Jackie? No, she said 'Irkens' which means more than one, which means... Bary starts to giggle.

"What's so funny?"

"It's just that, you and Beio have quite a few in common. You both do something that most, if not all Irkens don't do! You need sleep but no food, while he needs food but he doesn't need sleep! It's remarkable how different you two are, and yet it's more like you two mirror each other!"

Jackie has a dreadful look on her face.

"Why are you making that face? I mean doesn't this mean that you two have more in common than you might have thought?"

"N-no no, oh no no no no NO! This can't be happening! I-I can't believe it! It cant be possible! R-right?" Jackie starts to freak out

"Are you ok?! Why are you sweating?!" She runs over to Jackie with a worried look.

Jackie grabbed for Bary's face pushing her closer to her face "Bary, everything you just said about me and Beio means that we are...defects..." she says with tears in her eyes.
