To be successful you need to give yourself time, and for that you need patience.

Vi had known Taavin since they were little munchkins. Their parents were best friends and one could say they were family friends but they usually dodged that title and went around as best friends. Vi has always loved to read and has had her head in a book since she was a toddler. So much so that she wouldn't go to sleep without listening to a bedtime story. Taavin on the other hand, he was the total opposite of Vi.
Whilst Vi was very bookish, Taavin was very athletic but you wouldn't count him as one of those stereotypical football boys in high school. He was very nerdy though he chose not to showcase that part of himself and worked at the New York Stock Exchange. He wasn't one to show off and so even though he was well known, he wasn't famous per se. As Taavin himself has put in quite a few investments and the stocks have suddenly plummeted down he is out in an unexpected financially tough situation...along with something far more complicated than losing some money...something that could ruin her life and perhaps even...end it.
Vi walks into 16th street avenue and wonders what she'll do now that her best friend is in such trouble. If she could she would give everything she owned to him, but as she wasn't stable herself, she barely owned anything. She had a couple shirts and two jeans which she wore alternatively, her work uniform and one pair of shoes.
She didn't have to worry about feeding anyone apart from herself as her parents had passed away due to a disease three and a half years ago. Taavin would always extend his hand and offer to help her out financially, but Vi being the stubborn person she is always refused and had made sure to pay back every cent he spent on her.She didn't earn much as she didn't have a university degree as of yet but was working on getting one alongside her job, but as she likes to say; to be successful you need to give yourself time, and for that you need patience.
She walked into her favourite coffee place, 'Brick-flavoured Mornings' and ordered her usual, a tall, iced, half sweet, caramel macchiato with an extra shot of espresso and cream. Vi usually went to get coffee every morning but today was an exception, caffeine helped her think and that was precisely what she needed to do at that moment.
