"Hot damn is this place mighty fine." Cole said to himself as he sat around his and Alcina's bed chambers.
He hadn't seen a place so refined and elegant in years, the same he could say about the lady of the castle herself.
Cole laid down on the bed, lost in his thoughts of Alcina and the goddess she was. The dreams he had for their future, were vast, seemingly endless in the best of ways. The things they'd do, the eternal love they'd have for each other, the possibilities were more than just a linear path.
Cole then felt his stomach growl. He just remembered that the day had reached nighttime and that it was most likely time for dinner. About to head out, the door then opened and in walked the Ingrid, the head maiden. "Mr. Hoffman?" she asked for him. "Oh howdy. So, um how're you doing?" Cole inquired. "I'm doing well, thank you. It's not often someone asks any of us how we're doing. Thanks." She says as a smile creases across her lips. "Ah, don't mention it, I do my best not to be a dick to anybody unless they deserve it, if you know what I mean." Cole chuckled as he put down a glass of water he was drinking.
"I actually came to inform you that dinner has been prepared and the mistress and her daughters are waiting for you." She tells Cole.
"Hold on a second, reckon I gotta change a little." Cole said, slowly already taking his shirt off revealing his scarred and moderately muscular body.
Ingrid suddenly found herself in a trance. The scars all over Cole's back and front muscles made them stand out even more than they already did, the shade of red running over them. How soft his skin looked even with healed cuts scattered all over it.
Cole then turned around to see the maiden staring at his chest. "Hey, eyes up here mate." Cole said putting on another shirt. Ingrid snapped out of her trance, her cheeks already red from seeing such a perfect body.
Lady Dimitrescu then walked in on what someone else would most likely describe as awkward, but for her it was rather provocative toward Cole, someone she held so dear to her heart.
"Miss, just what do think you're doing?" Alcina demanded to know from the maid. "Mistress he was just changing, I swear I wasn't being out of-!"
"You'll pay for your disgraceful actions!" She angrily interrupted as she grabbed the maiden by her neck and grew her nails into claws as she prepared to kill her.
"Wait! Alcina, stop!" Cole reached out as he had to clarify the situation. "I was just changing my shirt and her eyes may have been in the some of the... wrong places, but it's fine, It's not a problem."
Alcina looked at Ingrid then back to Cole. She slowly lets go of her and waved the maid out of her and Cole's bedchambers.
The mistress gave a small sigh. "I must get ahold of myself. Anyway my love, shall we head to dinner?" She says, holding out her hand. Cole smiled and placed his hand to Alcina's. "Let's." Cole laughed.
With that, Cole and the lady of the castle headed down to the dining room, where the 3 girls were waiting for them.
"Hello mother! I'm guessing you and Cole ran into some... complications?" Cassandra greeted them with a well-intentioned concern. "Yes, but it's not a big problem of any sort." Cole assured them as he sat down.
"Well, that's good! We wouldn't want anything messing with the two of two!" Daniela giggles.
-A few minutes later.
Cole and the rest of the Dimitrescu family gnaw away at their food. Cole feels the meat squishing around inside his mouth. He hadn't tasted food this good in days, or what felt like years!
He then took a drink of a wine glass next to him and sipped it. That's new. He thought to himself. The liquid tasted irony and felt very smooth.
"Um excuse me, Cassandra is it?" Cole asked wanting to know what he just drank.
"Yeah?" Cassandra looks up from her food.
"What is this?" Cole holds up the wine glass with some of it still inside.
"Oh that? That's our wine, mother's own. It's maiden's blood. We also hunt others around the village and use their blood for the it. Hehe... It's the best part."
Cole's eyes widened at the what he she just said. All he heard was his rising heartbeat, his eyes doing their best not to pop out any further.
"Blood. I just drank blood?" Cole turning sickly joyful as he processed that he had just drank another person's life force. "Yeah! So... well, what do you think?" Daniela asked with some valid concern in her voice.
Cole took another drink of the blood in the wine glass. The sweet, warm, taste of the blood, the iron, it was the best thing he had ever drank.
"It's... perfect."
The Lady raised her eyebrows at the response. "Well, I'm... glad you enjoy it, I hadn't expected you to." Cole looked up at the lady and her daughters with a wide smile across his face. "Well lemme tell ya, this is probably the best thing I've ever drank."
The daughters all began to laugh as they had finally saw something they hadn't seen in anyone else in years. A fondness of pure blood's taste. Someone to finally share in their prize of the hunt.
Cole, with an equally joyous feeling inside him from finally found his place. A place among people that accepted him, a place he could break his chains and finally become the person he was meant to be. The world hadn't excepted him, but within the eyes of the lords, and Lady Dimitrescu and her daughters, he finally belonged.
And at last, he spoke his first words of a new nature.
"Well now girls, my lady, you all reckon telling when we're all hunting?"
