"Hey, darlin'. You ok?" A voice echoed in Alcina's head.

She slowly woke up to find herself where Cole left her while treating her: in her bed, covered by the blanket.

"Cole?" She turned her head to see Cole with his hand caressing her face. "Thank you. I...cannot express enough gratitude for how you've cared for us.

"Well, feels like you treating me again. Only that we've swapped places." Cole chuckled at the how obvious his joke sounded. He wished his humor could be better sometimes, especially in front of the love of his life.

Lady Dimitrescu gave a small laugh at Cole's attempt at humor. How she adored Cole and how charming he was. He didn't even need any humorous or catchy words to like being around. He was just so... perfect.

Alcina looked over to see her daughters standing behind Cole, while he gestured that they could come forward.

"Daughters? Oh I'm so glad to see all of you!" She rejoices as the sisters throw themselves into their mother. "I assume Cole took care of you well?"

Cassandra smiled at her mother's question. "Oh mother, you would not believe how much better we felt after all of it! He checked up on us every 5 minutes, seeing if we needed anything, he was so gentle, he made sure the fireplace was hot enough, he took the best care of us that we've ever had in years."

Alcina smiled at Cassandra's response. "I'm glad." She then looked at Cole with passion her eyes like never before. "It seems my daughters have become quite attached to you."

"Guess so. Feels like being a father to be honest. Of course, that's not a bad thing." Cole quickly jumped to clarify.

"It's okay Draga, I understood you. I do believe you'll be a great father."

Cole and Alcina looked at each other with such love in their eyes, it felt like an eternity for what was only a few seconds. How they were lost in each other.

"You're... the best of all the other man-things I've met. My daughters and I have... always had a strong distaste for them. Well, except that my girls may be fond of that fool, Heisenberg." Alcina says in a mix of disdain and gentleness while averting her eyes from Cole in uncertainty of his response.

"I hadn't shown that side of me when we first met. I didn't want to disappoint Mother Miranda after she'd worked that hard to find me another supposed soulmate. And I did take pity on what you'd already been through. I didn't wish to traumatize you anymore than you've already been."

"There a reason for that? For hating men?" Cole raises an eyebrow.

Alcina gives a small sigh and keeps her eyes averted and doesn't respond. A display that rather puzzled Cole. The lady of the Castle, so proud, so majestic in all her glory, was... shy?

Cole gives the countess a smile and puts his hand on her shoulder.

"Love, It's okay. Whatever may be troubling to speak of, I promise, I'm here for you. I'll always be."

Alcina looked up at Cole and gave a light smile, before preparing to give her backstory.

"I was... raised away from the home in which I was born. I always felt physically impaired, and had a strange thirst for blood, as if that were the only thing that would quell my condition. I never understood it, but my family was cold towards me for it, except for my mother and father. The others threatened to hurt them If they didn't take care of me, so they had little of a choice. They sent me away and I lived with another family in a quiet area for years. That was... until a war broke out. Homes were destroyed, families slaughtered, survivors enslaved or killed. I was terrified, but I paid it no mind as nothing happened to my family, at least not yet. Then one night, I was in bed when I heard a crash from downstairs. And from where I stood, I saw soldiers, men, attempting to subdue my adopted mother and father."
