About 20 minutes later, you both arrived.
A bright smile graced your face as you took in the tree atop the hill, a rope suspended from one of the branches overlooking the river. The current was almost none existent in this part, so the Elvenking had allowed the both of you to play here when you were younger as long as you were careful and took Legolas with you at all times. It had been about five years since you had seen it, and the sight of this place brings to mind many good memories of simpler, carefree times.
Legolas saw your wistful smile a knew you were recalling all the memories of this place. He decided not to disturb you and began removing his weapons. First the bow was removed, followed by the quiver and knives, which the prince placed at the foot of a nearby tree. Weapons removed, Legolas took off his riding boots, placing them beside them.
Legolas then climbed the hill and grabbed hold of the rope suspended from one of the higher branches.
You caught sight of a barefoot Legolas standing there fully clothed in his tunic and leggings, and opted to speak. "Aren't you going to take off your overclothes first? You'll want something dry to wear on the journey back."
"Don't worry, they will be dry long before that," he replied, knowing you had forgotten the magic of elves. He would have to refresh your memory later.
Further questions died on your lips as you watched the elf take a few steps back before running toward the rope, grasping it and swinging impossibly high up into the air before letting go and landing in the water with a splash.
It looked like a lot of fun and without further prompting from the elf you dismounted and took off your shoes, climbing the hill till you were standing near the rope.
"Jump in, Y/N! The water feels great!"
You took a few steps back and ran like the elf, simultaneously grabbing the rope and allowing it to propel you upward. Though you were heavier than an elf so you weren't about to reach such heights. It didn't matter though.
You screamed in delight as you swung through the air, letting go at the highest point and falling into the water below.
When you surfaced you gave the elf a splash to the face.
Legolas wiped his eyes. "Hey, what was that for?"
You crossed your arms. "For lying to me. This water is freezing!"
"It is not." Legolas replied.
"Of course, not to an elf!" you retorted. "Are you not of the age where your hröa is fully developed?"
Legolas looked sheepish. "I forgot I am no longer 500. If the water is too uncomfortable we can wait for a warmer day."
"Fat chance! I'm already soaking wet and it is several hours ride back. I'll just have to keep moving in order to keep my core temperature up." You scoffed at the elf's audacity, climbing out of the water.
A fun idea came to you and you ascended the hill, grabbing hold of the rope and climbing it until you were half way up. Then you stretched your legs and bent your back backwards. The forward momentum made the rope start swinging and you repeated the movements until you were high enough and let go of the rope, managing one single flip while grasping your outstretched legs before diving headfirst into the water.
