"Oh, I am Duan Zhi Hao. Sorry for not introducing myself earlier."
Li Ming just smiled and shook his head. "Don't worry about it. Anyway, we were in the middle of a conversation. It probably would've been strange to switch to introductions without finishing that first." Speaking of which, he couldn't help but glance at Yao Ai next to him who was still staring at her phone. "Still didn't find it?"
She looked up and pursed her lips, shaking her head. "Nothing at all! Well, they really have a lot of courses."
"I think you can sort them by time."
Yao Ai peered past Li Ming at Duan Zhi Hao and then felt enlightened. "Right, I should've thought of that! I'll just have to look at all the courses in our timeslot and the one from just now." She turned back to her phone, starting yet another search.
Li Ming smiled and then turned back to Duan Zhi Hao, not wanting to disturb her. "If you've taken a few courses before, you probably know about all the dos and don'ts. After the other course has left, should we go to the room immediately or is it better to wait a while? I think there is a half an hour break in-between, isn't there?"
Duan Zhi Hao nodded. "There is, but they usually don't mind if you go in already. Anyway, some people need more time to set up and they also don't want everyone to hang out in the break spaces. Just makes trouble if all the seats are taken all the time. So they like it more if you go into the room already."
"I guess in that case, it wouldn't be that long anymore. Anyway, I'm really curious about how the course will be. It sounded like there would be a lot of topics being covered based on what I read online. I hope I'll be able to up. It's been a while since I was in school and had to study like this."
At that, Yao Ai couldn't help but look up. "I just finished school. Anyway, I don't think it'll be that bad. Isn't it just a few hours a day? You've probably been working before, right?" Saying so, she couldn't help but look Li Ming up and down. She wasn't totally sure how old he was but he shouldn't be that old. Maybe he was going to university? But then again, he wouldn't have said that if he was. "Right, what is your job?"
This was a question that was awkward to answer for Li Ming. Right now, it wasn't like he had one but in general ...
Just then, the sound of a door opening came from down the corridor and Li Ming couldn't help but glance over. "Oh, seems like the previous course is finally done. Do you still want to look up whether the teacher is the same or do you just want to go and take a look?"
Yao Ai scrunched up her nose and shook herself, but finally put away the phone. "Well, let's go then. I'll just be brave. Anyway, there are two people to accompany me. Oh, also, maybe I should change my looks a bit. You know, take off my jacket, for example. He probably wouldn't recognize me, right?" She didn't even wait for a response and indeed took off her jacket, then tied up her hair, and took out a pair of glasses from her bag.
Li Ming watched in silence, feeling that she was going a little far. But, well, if it made her feel better, why not?
The three of them got up as soon as Yao Ai had finished and then made their way over to the room. By then, the students from the course before them had just left. The door was still open and after glancing inside, Yao Ai leaped behind Li Ming and hid behind his back.
Li Ming glanced behind him and raised his brows, not quite sure what to make of that. Then he thought of what had happened before and realized that the previous course's teacher was probably still inside and she was still worried that he might be angry despite her ... 'disguise'.
He smiled and shook his head. "Don't worry about it. He looks nice." He glanced into the room and then just stepped into the doorway, inclining his head toward the teacher. "Good morning! May we come in already?"
The man had just been turned to his notebook, typing something but he looked up at the greeting and smiled. "But of course! Just choose a seat. The good ones are at the front."
Li Ming smiled, feeling that this was probably a lie he told all the students that came in first but he did motion over to the seats in the first row, quietly asking Yao Ai and Duan Zhi Hao if they wanted to sit there.
Duan Zhi Hao didn't mind at all and actually slipped through the row of tables to one that was pretty close to where the teacher was sitting. He clearly didn't have any problem with this.
Li Ming's smile brightened and he followed along, waving for Yao Ai to sit down as well. In any case, the teacher didn't seem to mind what had happened previously. Actually, he looked really nice. That hadn't been a lie.
Yao Ai finally sat down on his other side and hastily took out everything she might need for the course. Then, she half-hid behind Li Ming. Really, right now, she was wondering if she should just take a seat in the second row. Li Ming was so tall, hiding behind him would have been so easy. Now, she could only hope that the teacher wouldn't look over here and realize that she was the one who had disturbed him before.
Li Ming didn't say anything but also took out some things, then taking out his phone and putting it on silent. Anyway, this wasn't the type of environment where he should have his phone go off. Not that he thought that likely. After all, the one person who had wanted to bother him all the time had already been blocked.
