Because I Love You

I want to go far away,

As far and as fast as possible.

Faster than the speed of sound,

Or faster than the speed of light.

Until no one will ever realise,

That in the first place, I never existed.

"You don't have to drive me home Chan," you said as you got out of the front seat with Chan holding the car door. He was annoyed, always rejected by you.

Chan closed the door then walked over to you, grabbed your shoulders softly. He smiled, then stroked a little strand of your hair that covered your face, "You work in my agency building, it's quite far from your house. I should be responsible for driving you home. I don't want to be like yesterday, you went home alone without telling me-"

He stopped for a moment, looking into your eyes with a very sad expression. His hands moved to your back and pulled you closer to his chest. His hands wrapped around you so that you no longer felt the cold night air that had stabbed your body.

"-and that made me panic. I was so worried, I wasn't there to protect you."

Chan's words made you feel guilty. You knew, really knew that he loved you. Once again, you knew what a sincere person looked like.

Because a sincere person would act very innocent and pure.

And people who sincerely love someone will be shown from every look in their eyes and behavior.

On the other hand, yes, you loved him. You'd opened your heart to Chan. You didn't know since when, you didn't remember. You didn't realise that you'd fallen that deep into his heart. However, everything about you made you self-conscious. You, who were just an ordinary woman, being able to become a very important person for someone far above you was really beyond common sense.

You knew very well that life was not a fairytale.

And you knew exactly, that you didn't deserve him.

"Look, I'm here now. That means I always go home safely. Why should you be worried?"

"Because I love you, Y/n. How can I not worry about the person I love, hm?"

"But Chan, I-"

"Y/n, you're home ?"

You and Chan immediately disengaged, taking a few steps away with panicked faces. You looked at the voice nervously, the voice of a woman who had been standing on the terrace watching a k-drama for free.

You walked into your house fence with Chan following you from behind. Needless to say, he was much more nervous than you. Even though you were not yet his lover, this part was still an important moment that cannot be forgotten. Meeting the family of someone he loved, well, he didn't expect to face it today.

"Mum, this is Chan, my friend."

Chan smiled blandly, just a friend, huh?

"Hello, uhm- Mrs. Lee, I'm Chan," said Chan politely as he bowed his body.

You looked at your mum who was smiling coquettishly. Again, your mum's habit was hard to control. When it came to young men, she couldn't help herself.
