"Thank you Chan, for your quick response. Y/n recently had frequent nosebleeds and fainted in the middle of work. I'm worried about her, you better persuade her to stop working and check up with the doctor. I'm going home, please take care of Y/n."
"Yes, Mr. John. Thank you."
You opened your eyes, hearing the faint voice of your grandpa. Then the sound of the closing door greeted your ears, followed by the sound of footsteps coming towards you.
"Y/n, are you awake?"
Chan immediately ran over and rubbed his hand on your forehead, making you fully regain consciousness. You tried to sit up, but when you groaned a little from the pain in your head, he grabbed your back and leaned you on the pillow he had arranged in front of the headboard.
"Slowly, love. You have a fever, don't move too fast."
You smiled, feeling a little awkward when Chan called you 'love' after so long.
"Love ? Didn't we break up?" you asked with a small chuckle.
"Break up ? Did I ever agree to break up?" he asked you back, replying to you with a teasing smile.
You laughed. He was right, you both technically never broke up.
Chan looked deep into your eyes. He smiled, but his expression returned to concern. He then touched your warm cheek and caressed it gently.
"What do you feel right now? And do you want to eat something?"
"Don't worry, I'm feeling okay now. I'm not hungry yet, maybe in one or two hours more."
Chan nodded, then he brought his body closer to you. His hands were holding your arms, moving his face closer to the area behind your right ear. He closed his eyes, placing a warm kiss there.
"How are you, hum?"
You put your hands around his neck. Your hands gently caressed the nape of his neck, making the owner murmured comfortably. He buried his face deeper into your neck and inhaled your intoxicating scent.
"Survived, how about you?"
"It was bad, really bad, but not anymore."
You knew it, you knew what happened to him for the past eight months. You knew that you two were going through tough times and not together with each other.
You were annoyed by someone who visited you two weeks ago at your grandfather's restaurant. But now you were grateful because that person, Alex, told you about Chan and Rena, about Chan being unable to concentrate because he missed you and about the failed stray kids comeback.
"I know, Alex already told me everything."
Chan immediately moved his body away from you and looked at you in surprise, "Alex met you?"
"Hum, yes, he came here two weeks ago. He told me what happened to you all this time,
including your past with Rena."
Chan sighed softly, once again, he still didn't expect that Alex would help him this far. Maybe treating him to the most expensive wine won't be enough to repay all his kindness.
"Yes, I was really dumb that time. I was confused and lost my way. But love knows where I have to go.
No matter how far I go, love brings me back to my home, and a good home is a home that make me don't want to linger outside. It's you, Y/n.
