Amari grabbed a cookbook from the shelf and skimmed the page for the ingredients.

After she grabbed everything she needed, she poured all of the ingredients into a big bowl and began mixing.

"What are you making?" Loki asked. Amari jumped and was startled. She didn't even hear him come near her.

"O-Oh, I'm making some brownies for the gathering," Amari said and continued to mix. "Can I help?" Loki asked, leaning on the counter. "Yeah, can you get a square pan, and melt butter in it?"

He did as she asked, and went back to her. She dipped her finger in the bowl and held it to Loki. He looked at her finger, clearly confused. "Taste it," she smiled.

Loki smiled back, and licked the batter, making Amari blush. "This tastes amazing Amari!" Loki said and went to dip his finger into the bowl again. Amari smacked his hand.

"Aye, stay out of the batter! You could contaminate it!" She said jokingly.

"But you did the same thing!" Loki pouted. "But IM the one who's cooking it!" Amari giggled. She started laughing.

"What's so funny?" Loki asked, crossing his arms. "You...You have something on your face," she said between wheezing.

"Where is it?" Loki asked, trying to wipe it off.

Amari went close to him, and licked her thumb, and wiped a bit of batter off the corner of his lip. "There, much better," Amari said softly. Loki smiled, and gently grabbed her wrists.

Amari's heart started beating fast. She leaned in closer, and he did the same.

Just as they were about to kiss, they hear the elevator ding, and they quickly stepped away from each other, trying to look as innocent as possible.

"Oh hey love birds," clint said and went into the kitchen. "U-Uh hey clint!" Amari said and poured the brownie batter into the pan.

"What are you two doing? Shouldn't you get ready for the party?" Clint asked, taking a bit of his apple that was in the fridge.

"Uh, I wanted to make a sweet treat. And, I already picked out my

Outfit." Amari lied.

"Mhmm...well the food smells nice," Clint said and began to walk out.

"Well, I guess I should get ready for the party, huh?" Clint said and continued to walk out.

" oh hey, guys- What's that smell? It smells delicious." steve said, grabbing a bottle of water from the fridge. "I'm making brownies for the gathering," Amari replied, taking the brownies from the oven.

"They smell amazing!" Steve said, stepping next to Amari. "I hope they taste okay too," Amari said and placed the brownies on a rack to cool off.

Loki was leaning on the counter, reading a cookbook. "I have to go get dressed, I'll see you at the gathering," Steve said and left.

"In the name of Odin, I thought he would never leave." Loki snickered and sniffed the brownies. Amari rolled her eyes.

"And why was that?" Amari asked, crossing her arms. "No reason!" Loki laughed and left the room.

She went to her room and trying to see what she could wear. She decided on a black cocktail dress, with black heels.

"There, that should be okay." She thought, and she heard music from downstairs.

"I guess the party already started." She thought. She went to the elevator, and she walked into the party room. As she thought, everyone was there. The men wore suits. And the women wore different colored dresses.

Thor was talking to clint and bruce in the corner of the room, Natasha and Wanda were having a girl conversation, tony and steve were fighting over who would eat the last piece of brownie, sam and bucky were having a shot contest, while vision was at the bar, staring at Wanda. Loki wasn't in the room, probably still getting ready.

Amari's POV

I sat next to Vision, and he looked up at me. "Hello Amari, you look wonderful." Vision said, smiling at me. "Hey vis, what are you thinking about?" I asked, and poured me a glass of rum, with some Pepsi.

"Oh nothing..." he said and stared back at Wanda. I smiled and chuckled softly. "You know, you may be smarter than me, but you are terrible at lying," I said, sipping my drink.

"Okay, you got me...It's just...I've developed feelings for Wanda." Vision confessed. I smiled, and patted his back.

"You deserve to be loved vis. Go talk to her. And don't wait for too long, before it's too late." I said, giving him a nudge.

He looked at me and smiled. "Thank you, Amari. I will take your advice." He said, and left. I smiled. And looked at my drink. I drank it in one gulp And began to pour me another, with just rum. I grabbed a shot cup and poured liquor into it.

I drank it, and the burning sensation in my throat felt amazing. I took another.

"You shouldn't be drinking that so fast."

I looked up, and saw Loki, wearing a forest green suit, with gold designs on his black tie. "Well, look who decided to show up!" I said and punched him in the arm.

"Well, yes. I couldn't find what to wear, so I just chose this suit." He said and poured himself some liquor.

"You do look great in it," I said, sipping from my drink. He looked up at me and smiled. "Thank you, you look ravishing," he said. We saw the avengers form a conga line, and were singing on the top of their lungs.

"Would you like to go somewhere more quiet?" He asked. "Yeah, let's goooo~," I said, grabbing his hand with one hand, and some vodka in the other. We walked to the roof and looked up at the sky.

"I remember I used to look up at the stars on Asgard. The stars here are nowhere as visible as the ones there." He said, sitting on the edge of the building.

I sat beside him, sipping on the wine.

I felt a buzz, I think from the number of drinks that I had. I took off my heels and threw them across the roof. Loki looked at me and smiled.

"What?" I asked, sipping on some more wine. "I'm just thinking. " Loki replied, looking down at the city below us. "Thinking about what?" I asked, putting my wine down.

"Nothing. I always think about things. It's nothing new," he said, fidgeting with his hands. "Loki, talk to me," I said, holding his hand. He looked at me and looked at the city below us.

He took a deep breath. "When I was younger. I was always the outcast. My brother was adored by everyone...and I on the other hand....no one would bother to even talk to me unless they had to."

He took another deep breath and continued. "And A few years ago, I found out that I wasn't even an Odinson...I was a laufeyson. A frost giant. A monster that parents would tell their kids at night...and I..."

I looked at him and held his hand tighter. "Loki, this isn't your fault...none of it is your fault." I said, rubbing my thumb on his hand. I hugged him close to me, and he started crying silently.

"Shhh... it's okay, let it all out." I cooed, rubbing his back. His face was buried in my neck, which felt great, as his hot breath was on my neck- omg, stop right now.

After a good ten minutes, he finally stopped crying. "I'm sorry..." he whispered. I held his cheek with my hand.

"You have nothing to be sorry about. That's what friends are for," I said. He smiled softly and held me closer to him.

He smells like mint and books-... I'm drooling- omg stop.

"Thank you, Amari.." he whispered.

"Your welcome Loki," I replied, my head on his chest. I felt his heartbeat, slow and steady. I closed my eyes, and went to sleep.
