Katie's POV
"He's a great guy, Kate. Come on, just give him a chance. For me?" my best friend Holly asked, giving me the full puppy dog face, sad eyes and pouty lips. She was so frustrating.
"Hol, I don't want to be set up anymore. I'm sure he is wonderful but now is not the time for me to be trying to start a relationship."She rolled her eyes at me. "Who said anything about a relationship? They are overrated anyway. Get some action, Katie. It's been a while."
"Relationships are overrated? Says the woman with a million dollar rock on her hand. You do realize we are here for your wedding, right? I mean, you haven't forgotten?"
Holly rolled her eyes so hard I thought they might get lost in her head but she returned her look back to me with those chocolate brown eyes and smiled.
"It doesn't have to be anything serious. Just have fun. Tom is a nice guy. Ben is dying for you guys to meet. I am too. He is so sweet. He's from the UK..."
"He's British? Good God, Holly!"
"What is your problem with Brits?" she asked, frustrated.
"My last boyfriend was from London. You know this. He was a total douche bag. I want nothing to do with this Tom you speak of!" I huff.
"Too bad. We were all going out to dinner tonight but Ben and I have to meet with the wedding coordinator so it will just be you two." I start to protest but she stops me. " Reservations have already been made. No getting out of this one. Enjoy."
She smiles and skips annoyingly out of the room. I could throttle her.

Tom's POV
"It's just dinner." my old mate Ben says, holding open the door as I exit my bungalow in Costa Rica.
"That's what you said last time." I warned, looking over my shoulder at him.
"Not everyone is going to steal your wallet like that Leslie did. She was crazy. I didn't know!" he holds his hands out in front of him in defense and I can't help but laugh. No, no one knew Leslie was crazy. Crazy, however, she was.
"Go on and enjoy. She's Holly's best friend. How bad could she be?"
I sigh and nod before walking into the restaurant on location. It was nice not having to leave the little secluded place where the wedding would be. Less paparazzi and such.
I glance across the room when my eyes land on a beautiful brunette. She is wearing a white sundress and yellow sandals that tie around her ankles. Her skin is the color of caramel from her tan and even from here I can tell she has light eyes. Green or blue, I'm not sure yet.
She grimaces when she sees me but stands when I reach the table.
"Tom?" she asks, shaking my hand.
"Yes, and you must be Kathryn?"
"Kate or Katie." she corrected me.
She was giving off frosty vibes as we took our seat.
"It's beautiful here, isn't it?" I ask as I look out from the restaurant. From our table we can see the crystal water perfectly.
"Look," she says, laying her menu on the table and staring at me, "I don't want to be here. I'm only here because Holly asked me to be."
Well, then. It's funny how someone who looks like such an angel can have such a bad attitude. Maybe she was having a bad day. I'd give her the benefit of the doubt.
