No one's POV
Harry almost instantly knew what the mirror was, it was The Mirror of Erised. It was only then that Professor Quirrell noticed Harry, and turned around to face him. They stared at each other for a while, before Harry realized that Quirrell seemed to have space out, deep in thought. After another few minutes of Quirrell spacing out, he shook his head and his black eyes turned red.
"Harry Potter." Quirrell said, though his voice didn't stutter. "Come here and tell me, boy, what do you see when you look in the mirror." Quirrell said, a smirk on his face and as he moved aside for Harry to walk up.
Harry walked up to the mirror and looked in it, and what he saw made his eyes widen and tears welled up in his eyes. He saw my parents, Lily and James, standing on either side of him and Polly, who was right next to him. They were all laughing and smiling, and James had his hand on Harry's shoulder, accepting him into the family. Tears started to fall down Harry's face as he looked at it longer. The acceptance of his family. That was what Harry desired most in life.
"What do you see, boy." Quirrell said, clearly set off by how Harry was crying from my greatest desire.
"I see me and my family laughing and smiling as they accept me into the family." Harry said, not looking away from the mirror.
"Why would you be crying from that?" Quirrell asked, disturbed. Harry stay silent for a few seconds, before responding.
"Because I know, deep down... that it could never come true." He said, not wanting to believe his own words, but no matter how hard he try to deny it, he knew they were true. His family didn't love him, they didn't even dislike him. They despised him.
After a few more seconds, Harry's reflection stops laughing and looks at him, before patting his pocket and putting one finger up against his lips, smirking. Harry then felt a weight in his pocket. When he reach into his pocket, he felt the stone. The resurrection stone.
