No one could believe that THE David Foster was going to be our music director. As he walked onstage, I never took my eyes off of him. I mean, this is the guy who produced all of Josh Groban's records, and JG is my idol. Clearing his throat, Foster begins to introduce himself. "As many of you know, I am David Foster. I have produced records for numerous talented artits, such as Christina Aguilera, Andrae Bocelli, and Celine Dion. Recently, I retired, but I still love music, and would be honored to introduce the joys of it to talented individuals such as yourselfs." I looked around, and saw that everyone's eyes were wide. A hint of a smile played at our new music director's lips. "So, without further adue, Anderson, Bethany." A tall blonde sashays up to the apron. After rummaging around backstage, she finally pulls out a flute. She proceeds to play 'Learn To Be Lonely', quite beautifully I might add. Few people stood out to me, but among those few were: Allison Sheppard-the junior-who sang 'Prima Donna', Steven Brinkley, with 'Music of the Night', and a duet of 'Phantom of the Opera' by Fransisco Hernandez and Megan LeVick. Not surprisingly, most of the girls couldn't hit any high notes. Then it was my turn. "Richards,Carolyn." I take a swig from my water bottle, and keep my back straight on my way to the stage. You cannot mess up, not even a little, I tell myself, this is David Foster. When the music starts, I inhale, and let it go. My rendition of 'All I Ask of You', is positively perfect. Once I sit down, Foster is already gathering up his papers and dismissing us. Walking out onto the campus, David pulls me aside. "All I can say, is wow. How do you get that low? I mean, I don't know any women who can sing that low. Well." I beam. "Thank you, Mr. Foster." Driving back to my apartment, I can't stop thinking about what he said. Maybe I'll make the cast.
