"i... like you too, junho.", eunji confessed, her cheeks hot to the touch as a wide grin spread across her face. junho lets out a giggle, pulling her into his chest, squeezing her like his life depended on it. he pulled away from the hug gently, his hands still resting on her upper arms, "i'll take care of you, eunji. i promise.".

the pair looked into each other's eyes, melting into each other's gazes. junho dropped his hand down to meet hers, grinning as he enveloped his hands around her tiny ones. they exited the rooftop, arms swinging ever so slightly with each step they took. eunji was still grinning from the confession, her cheek muscles starting to grow sore. "are we really dating now?", she asked, looking up at him, wanting to hear him say it again. he chuckled, his cheeks growing pink as well, "yes, we are.".

"what are you doing?", a gentle voice asked. jeno placed his phone down on the counter top and picks up his cup of orange juice, taking a sip. "you can't ignore me forever, jeno.", the voice called out again. her heels clicked against the tiled floor as she made her way to the other side of the counter, standing across jeno. he placed the glass down on the table, looking to the side as he avoided eye contact.

"jeno, you know we love you, right?", she asked, reaching her arm across the counter to rest her hand on his. he moved his hand away swiftly, brushing through his hair.

"jeno-"
"stop it, mother.", he cut her off.

she sighed, retracting her hand. she plays with her fingers, not sure how to explain herself in a way that would get through to her son. silence loomed over the pair, the air tense and intimidating. jeno places the half empty cup of orange juice in the sink, not feeling thirsty anymore. he then makes his way out of the kitchen, wiping his mouth against his sleeve.

"jeno," his mother called out again, gentle but stern. he stopped in his tracks, not turning around to face her. "we love you. we're doing this for your future.".

he looks over his shoulder, meeting her eyes that were looking straight at him. he scoffed, a smirk forming on his face, "no, you're doing this for your future.".
