is this a date?

after cleaning up the store and restocking the shelves, eunji closed the store for the night. to her surprise, jeno was sitting on the chair outside the store, his hands stuffed in his pockets as he nuzzled his face into his sweater.

"what are you still doing here?", eunji asked as she locked the door, her hands getting stiffer and stiffer by the second as the cold air engulfed her body. "i'm here to walk you home." jeno responded, standing up straight. eunji dropped the keys into her backpack, "you really don't have to.".

"i insist.", jeno replied. the girl blushed, feeling the warmth travel up her neck and spread across her cheeks, bringing her warmth that she was looking for in this cold weather. with that, they started walking away from the store. as jeno took a step, eunji had to take two just to keep up with him. noticing that she was basically running, he slowed his pace down to accomodate for her, a smile forming on his lips.

"so, where are we headed to?", eunji chirped. "your home.", jeno replied, mimicking her enthusiasm. "so you know where i live? gasp, are you a stalker?", eunji replied dramatically, placing her hand over her gapped mouth. jeno stuttered, surprised by the sudden teasing coming from her. eunji decided to tease him even more, "help!", she started, gaining some attention from a few people across the street, "he's stalking me!". with that, she took off, leaving him behind. his mouth fell open, shocked at what she just said and promptly assured the people across the street that he was, in fact, not a stalker.

once that was sorted, he started chasing after the girl. eunji turned back, seeing him catching up to her. she squealed from excitement and joy as she tries to outrun him. unfortunately, he catches up with her, picking her up from behind, tossing her on his shoulder. she giggled while asking him to put her down. he refused, spinning her around as a sign of retaliation. after a minute of spinning her, he could feel her tap frantically on his back, "jeno, i'm getting dizzy.". with that, he gently lowered her from his shoulder, his hands gently supporting her elbows, making sure she wouldn't topple over.

"are you alright?", jeno asked as he bent down to meet her height. eunji smiled gently, "kinda. i will be a-okay in a couple more minutes.". he giggled at her response, finding it cute. "let's get you home, alligator.", he moves his hand down her arm and grabs onto her hand as they continued to walk home, this time with eunji giving him the directions instead of crying wolf.

they stopped in front of her apartment door. eunji turned around to face jeno. "thank you for walking me home.", she said. he chuckled, "it's no big deal, eunji.". she looked up at him as they locked eyes, the corners of their lips turned upwards. the pair wanted to stay there forever, staring into each others' eyes. warmth started to engulf eunji, she broke eye contact and cleared her throat, jeno followed suit.

"well, i better get going now. good night, jeno.", eunji greeted, taking a step into her house. jeno smiled back at her, "good night, eunji.".
