Ariyah's POV:
After a spending a time dancing and meeting business partners of the Di Vaio's, I realized just how tiring these kinds of functions could get. I was having a good time, but my nerves and feelings had begun to overwhelm everything I was experiencing. Finally being able to break away from Mariano and his business friends, I slipped over to the bar and got a drink. On the way here, Mariano told me two things: One, don't walk away from him. Two, don't drink.

I was directly going against those orders, but I had a few reasons of my own. One, I don't give a fuck. Two, I needed a drink to calm my nerves. Three, I was bored as fuck, and was already getting a punishment anyway. As I waited on the kind gentlemen to make my drink, we made small talk. I learned that he was from New Orleans, and a friend of the Di Vaio family who was catering the event. Getting more and more familiar with him, I learned that he was 23, and was going to major in economics before his family found out about his sexuality. They withdrew their support from him, and he had to work his way to the top through restaurants. The Di Vaio's took him in, and he's never looked back since.

Earlier, I had noticed a man to my left and got an eerie vibe from him. Choosing to involve himself in the situation, he said "Hm. You're not under control, are you?"

Noticing that he directed his statement at me, I questioned him. "I don't know what you're talking about."

The stranger turned to me. He took off his shades, which I found to be odd because we were in an elegant, inside setting. He had two different colored eyes, and almost reminded me of someone that I knew. Deciding to shake it off, I turned away. He slammed his cup down, and directed the waiter to get him another drink. "Turn around. You know exactly what I'm talking about."

Deciding to shut this shit down before it got out of control, I finally decided to release my inner brat. "I told you I didn't know what you were talking about, now I need to you to back away before I shove my foot so far up your ass you won't be able to back away without putting your wheelchair in reverse. Have a nice day sir."

I continued to walk away, but I heard the strangest thing. "You've grown up, yah."

The hairs on the back of my neck raised. Only one person called me that, and it wasn't someone I was fond of. But it couldn't have been them, right? They were supposed to be dead. I thought I had heard this sentence incorrectly and tried to convince myself otherwise. But my gut and my head was telling me to find Mariano, NOW. The more I searched for him, the more the words of that strange man played in my mind. I was now certain that he said 'yah,' as in the last part of my name, not as in yeah. That fact scared me immensely.

I knew I needed to calm myself before I did something crazy, so I walked down the hall I thought I saw Mariano last enter. However, all the walls looked the same in a way, because they all had some sort of intricate detailing. I wasn't sure exactly where I was going, but I knew I needed to at least try and find Mariano. I felt as if all eyes were on me, but more so one particular pair, and they weren't welcoming.

Before I knew it, I had walked past a door and it swung open. Two pairs of hands reached out. One pair secured themselves around my waist, and the other around my mouth and eyes. Screaming as loudly as I could, it was stifled to a muffled sound by thin fingers. I did the first thing I could think of, which was elbow behind me and bite their hand. But it wasn't enough. You know how I knew?

Because the next thing I know, I was pulled into a dark room.

Mariano's POV:
As I was talking to some past and current business prospects, I noticed Ariyah had moved from her spot. She was finally showing her true colors, and I couldn't have asked for more. She thought I didn't know, but she had a very bratty personality. However, that was fine, as I loved a challenge.

Her moving away from me did nothing but prove my assumptions correct. While it irritated me, it filled me with a sense of joy. I couldn't wait to properly punish her ass, that is, when I found it. Stepping away to make a quick call, I was getting very irritated, very quickly.

As soon as I found the number I needed, I pressed it. My patience had begun to run thin as I waited on the phone to connect, though I knew the owner would answer. Satisfied to hear breathing on the other side of the phone, I began to speak. "La mia bella principessa manca. Trovala."

After hanging up, I took a glass of scotch off of a nearby server's tray. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a man. His posture was nothing like a man in a business setting, as he was leaning against a wall. This man was unfamiliar, and had the craziest look in his eyes. Meeting my eyesight, he gave me a cocky smile and proceeded to walk away. No one, and I mean no one, would challenge me in my own territory. Knowing that this man was unfamiliar to me, I called my special number back. "Change of plans. C'è un uomo sconosciuto. Lui è una minaccia. Trovalo, prendilo, e lascia il resto per me. Voglio scoprire cosa sta facendo qui. E manda uomini per trovare la mia ragazza. Se si fa male, lo sarai anch'io."

I headed to the security room to view the cameras. As I entered the room, I greeted today's head of security, Luka. "Tell me what's happening."

Luka pulled up the camera with the bastard on the allotted screen. All of a sudden, the camera went out of focus, and the man was out of the picture. I had to say no words. Knowing his life was on the line right now, Luka scrambled to find the man. Using our facial recognition system, he copied the man's face and again found him in one of our thousands of cameras. Eight of my men were walking towards the bastard, from all directions. Before they captured him, though, everything went black.

The electricity had been shut off, and I only had one word: "Fuck."
