Chapter 31

"Welcome home, Eli!"

As soon as I opened the door to enter the house, my mom immediately ran towards me and gave me a tight hug. Dad was following her, walking with such calmness.

"I miss you so much!" Mom said, tightening her hug more.

"I miss you too..." I said as I hugged her back.

I'm here right now in the Philippines to spend my summer break. It's been a long time since I left, and now I'm finally back here in my home.

"If you're wondering where's your Kuya Kael, he's going to be home today. He's been on a vacation trip with his friends since last week," Mom said before she gently withdrew our hug.

"Okay," I said, staring at my mom's face.

God, my Mom is aging so well.

"Hey, I'm here too." Dad extended his arms, asking for a hug, which made me smile.

"Daddy..." I said as I went to hug him. 

"My little girl is finally back," he said, patting the back of my head gently.

Tears slowly escaped my eyes. I'm just so happy to be back with my family, no other words can explain how glad I am right now. We may have missed a lot of bonding, but the warmth that our family has is still as strong as ever. I'll make sure to not waste a single moment with them while I'm here in the Philippines. I'm going to make my vacation unforgettable.

"How's Korea, Anak?" Tanong ni Mommy sa 'kin habang kumakain kami ng breakfast.

"It's okay naman, Ma." I answered directly as I continued eating.

"How about your love life? May naging boyfriend ka ba do'n?" she innocently asked, which made me stopped eating.

Should I tell her that I have a boyfriend? I mean... they didn't have any idea that I was dating Yohan before. I was young back then, so I never thought of introducing Yohan to my family. I was also scared to tell my family about him, despite the fact that he's a K-pop idol, I was not sure if they would allow me to be in a relationship.

But what about now?

Should I keep my relationship secret from my family? No... Yohan doesn't deserve that. I already met his parents and they immediately accepted me with warm hands. So, I think it's my turn to introduce him to my parents... too.

"Yes. I have a boyfriend, Ma..." I said, trying not to stutter.

"Really? Who's your boyfriend?" she excitedly asked.

I swallowed deeply and blinked. "My boyfriend is... Yohan." I nervously said.

I'm sure that Mom finds his name familiar, or even worse, she knows him. Yohan was already famous before, and he is even more famous now. What if Mommy won't believe me that I'm dating him because she finds him too perfect for me? She would think that I was lying! Nakakahiya 'yon!

"Do you have a picture of you and him together? His name sounds familiar kasi! I want to see his face!" she said curiously, smiling widely.

I laughed awkwardly. How can I tell her that I haven't taken pictures with Yohan together? If I show her a picture of Yohan from the Internet, she would surely think that I am lying about having a boyfriend! Those pictures are way too perfect to believe!
