Chapter 20 - A Falling Book

Two days later

As usual, Shadow Master returned to the charity house's library to continue looking for something useful to him. He wouldn't stop looking in the library until he checked all the books and files there.

Shadow Master stared at a book with a maroon front and back cover link. Shadow Master was about to take it. But the book was difficult to take because it was stuck between two thick books. Shadow Master then used one of his hand to hold the bookcase while the other hand pulled the book that he want it.

But without realizing it, his hand that was holding the bookcase pushed the bookcase until it swayed and caused a thick book with the light blue cover and the front cover facing out of the bookcase fall and went straight to Shadow Master.

Shadow Master's PoV
Wusshh!!...

Suddenly I felt a strong gust of wind pass over my head. Yeah, maybe it came from the window that suddenly opened-

BRAK!

There was a sound of something falling next to me. I turned and found a book lying on the floor a bit far from me.

Was i pushed the bookcase without realizing it? Is that why the book fell?

I took the book and looked at the cover. It was a book about food. Not interesting to me at all. Except if i am Paddle Pop's friend who has short and round body. And he also has spines.

Hmmm... where is this book's place? Oh yes! I saw it was in here...

I was just about to put the book back in its place when I realized that it was right above me. Which means this book should have falled on me. But in fact, he fell next to me at an unnatural distance.

Wait a minute! There was a sudden gust of wind over my head. And if i think again, the gust were a bit unnatural. Could it be there is someone earlier helped me use the power of the wind? But who?

After thinking for a while, I decided to ignore it because it will be wasting my time.

I intend to return the blue book to its place.

The unexpected and extremely loud sound of thunder startled me. Instantly, the blue book in my hand fell off and hit me right in the face.

At night, the rain still continued to fall even though it was not as heavy as the noon. The air is colder than yesterday. I hear the creatures here are grateful for the rain. Well, they said they were feeling hot yesterday.

I am? Feeling hot? Hah! A creature like me can survive even in extreme temperature conditions

I then heard the sound of the door opening. I turned and found Paddle Pop coming into the room. Oh, great! I immediately locked the door of our room and put the two keys in my pocket. I'm still upset about what happened this noon. Even though the pain is gone now, it's still annoyed me. Luckily no one saw it. If anyone saw it, I could be more upset than this.

Before he got to his bed, I had grabbed his collar and then I did what I usually do.

"N-no, Shadow Master! I-I'm not feeling well. L-let me rest tonight."

I looked Paddle Pop for a moment. He does look a little different. A bit pale in my opinion.

Ah, but why should I care about him!

So without care of what he said, I continued to do what I wanted to do.
