Episode 10

After Mrs Edina did my make up ,  Her and mom escorted me back to the party ,

You look so pretty darling,

So dashing and I am pretty sure you will be the center of attention tonight, Every one will be ogling only at you .

Don't give a damn at  what they are going to say to you, raise your chin and walk like a princess becuase you are one.  She whispers on my ear with a cheerful smile on her face .

i looked at mom who was silent and looking at me , Her face looked so irritated but masked it by raising an eyebrow up all the time. 

Now run along, Yuna is waiting to see you just as the others too .

why ? i wanted to ask but Instead I  nod my head in response following both the two women .

I am not sure what's going on, Mom didn't say a single word since I changed into this gorgeous red gown that hugged my upper body with a lace material and threaded with sparkling blue crystals that shine every second the light shines on them , And it reached two feet away from my knee spreading itself like a mini ball gown .

It is gorgeous .

I didn't forget to say thank you to Yuna when I came out after dressing  and her being told to leave so that she could be available on the party because of a particular show that is under her watch . 

I wonder what made mom  leave miss Edina to be incharge of my look and dressing this night, it's unlike of her to keep quite or let anyone to do anything to me especially if it's not of  her liking .

I am pretty sure she  is angry at me , " And I know I am to be blamed , "

if it wasn't for me then she would have been at the party enjoying the blissful night  with other women and men of her class .

The cold air of the night hit my exposed skin , The dress had a short sleeve cut  exposing a good part of my arms  and short enough to expose my short legs . It isn't my first time to wear something like this ,  I just don't feel like I am myself with all these. 

Mrs Edina walked and left me with mom after making sure that I am calm and not nervous ,

Are you happy now ,? Mom asked after minutes of silence of her looking around and me fiddgeting with my fingers .

i .. I am sorry ,I said and sniffled causing a rough whoosh on my paining nose ,

I flinched and touched it lightly earning a glare from her which made me drop my hand in an instant .

I .. I am sorry .I whispered again,

I am sick and tired of your sorry ass Sofia , It's the best next time if you could shut that smart mouth of yours , it can get you into serious troubles . I mean it,

let's go, She threatned and I understood her well , Nodding my head I followed her behind to the crowd where alot and bunch of things were being explained .

I think we were late for the party , There were pieces of designs of clothes that were being shown off,There were prices of jewelleries that were being auctioned at the same time .

I wonder what this party is all about .

I shut my mouth and settled on the far end of the table near my mother who was discussing Something with dad , They looked like they were in intense conversation. My eyes were glued to dad who nod his head , He looked vibrant tonight in his tuxedo , beside him is Tony who is busy looking at the show and noting things down on a little book .

I averted my gaze Infront of where the host was talking, and saw some very beautiful pieces of arts carried on being  sold ,

Something caught my eye , "  An ancient ankle bracelet which was teamed up with several chains with it and it sparkled making the show a shame on my eyes ."

Gorgeous ! I muttured and hold my breath looking at it .

I had never had something like that it I would be delighted to wear it , it looks intimidating and beautiful too . Words can't even express how much I fell in love with it .

Smiling lightly , I ignored the rumbling of my empty stomach and looked at it one more time before hearing the words

Sold !!

I sighed and clapped my hands together with the others and not soon Mr and Mrs Thompson were up on stage , They looked like a definition of the striking couple  , how they looked at each other , how they smiled at one another .

I wonder how she is feeling, I envied her for some reason becuase she is beautiful and intelligent and a very  rich woman .Together with her rich husband who adore her whole heartedly .

Good evening ladies and gentlemen ,Welcome to the Thompson party , I know you guys didn't expect what you had seen today but I am pretty sure you are having a splendid time .

The crowd cheers positively in response boosting her confidence which made me smile .

Tonight, we have one last great news to share with you before we carry on with celebrating , Every one looked at one another like pointing out what was the next astonishing surprise. 

I was curious too , I saw my parents standing up from their chairs and walked to the stage  after Mr and Mrs Thompson invited them over .

i know they are friends , but it looked weird to me that they had to be called there .

They both introduced themselves which earned some cheers from the. audience ,

" Are they partnering ?" That was my first question as I looked at their faces , But they are partners  for many years and every one in this world of theirs know that .

I wasn't even listening to what they were saying, " I was quiet and slipped in my thoughts when I heard my name over the microphone being called and every one went silent ."

I looked at the stage and my eyes met mom and Mrs Edina's ,

I was confused , but I stood up from my chair when every one turned to look at me ,

"Jog right up here my dear .."  Mrs Edina teased making me turn red. 

That wasn't cute ..But I can't tell her. 

I wanted the ground to open and swallow me as I walked timidly to where I was called ,

And this is our dearest Sofia ..

Every one cheered  making me all cold , and hot at the same time.

What was happening , ?

Climbing up the stairs I thought I would drop right there only for a hand to catch mine ,I shiver at the contact of the cold hand on mine and calmed my nerves not even bothering looking at the person who saved me from embarrassing myself again .

Thank you, I whispered and open my eyes only to meet the man who I stumbled  with earlier ,

you !I whisper with a little frown but masked it with a light confused smile and bent down noticing we are infront of the crowd .

And this is my beautiful Sofia soon to be engaged with our son Erick Thompson .

I would like to announce an engagement , and a marriage as soon as possible for our children to you all .

I froze at her statement as my eyes went wide , Bile rising in my throat not becuase of disgust but this new piece of information .

I felt the ringing pain on my nose increasing , I am not sure how .My surprised eyes met with my dad who had a normal facial expression and mom who had a smug smile enjoying my reaction.

i couldn't even look at the Thompsons either , nor this man Erick .

No,this can't be possible , that was all bit ringing in my head making me dizzy ,my heart pounding with the news . And my sweat dripping thinly from my neck to my chest .

Before I know it, Erick took my hand and slid a finger which earned a cheer from the crowd  , And my parents gave me a ring that I immediately , shakingly slid into the man's finger and I was about to stumble back when he caught me again. 

"Such a clumsy brat !!"  He whispers on my ear ,

And just like that , I saw dark spots and felt myself dropping unconscious.
