Chapter 1

Anna's pov

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP

I groaned as I rolled over to turn off my alarm off, 'great Monday' I thought I never looked forward to going to school. I sat up and rubbed my eyes, got out of bed and quickly got dressed. Today I wore a white and grey plaid t-shirt, black jeans,and black vans, I brushed my hair and applied some red lipstick, then I went downstairs, ate a bowl of cereal, grabbed my backpack, said goodbye to mom and headed off to school. The walk to school was the same as usual, the birds were chirping and the sun was just beginning to rise above the horizon making the sky appear to be a lovely shade of orange. About 10 minutes later I arrived at school I entered the building and went to my locker to get my books for my first 3 periods. As I closed my locker someone walked into me causing me to fall to the ground, my books scattering everywhere. I looked up to see Baldwin looking at me over his shoulder then he walked off. I groaned in pain as I got up off of the cold tile floor, as I knelt down to reach for the first book when a guy I didn't recognize walked up to me and offered to help me pick up my books and I accepted his offer. He looks roughly as old as I am, his dark brown hair is greased back, he has tan skin, chocolate brown eyes, and he's wearing a black leather jacket,with a white shirt underneath of it, black jeans, and black boots. We soon finish picking up all of my books "Thank you" I say "You're welcome" he then tells me how he's new here and that he can't find his class, so I ask him what he has for first period and he says "English in Mrs. Heards class" "I know where that is come on follow me." I lead him to English and we got there just before the bell rang and we took our seats. He sat down next to me, as soon as the teacher wasn't looking a note slid across my desk I opened it and it said

'Hi my name's Crybaby what's yours?' I wrote 'Annalise but please call me Anna.' Then as soon as the teacher wasn't looking I slid the note back to him and watched him open it, he smiled and scribbled something down on it then slid it back over. I opened it and read 'Okay then Anna wanna hang out after school and maybe grab some pizza?' I froze we had only just met and he's asking me to grab pizza with him after school. I reluctantly accepted after all he's probably the only person to have ever noticed me at school, besides Baldwin and his gang of course. I saw him open it and smile out of the corner of my eye and he started scribbling. He passed the note back I opened it and read 'Cool see ya after school.' Then the bell rang and English ended and before I knew it school was over and as it turns out we have 1st, 3rd, lunch, and 7th together all day and I have a really good feeling me and Crybaby are gonna be the best of friends.
