Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Part 4. Becoming S.H.I.E.L.D. fugitives

Steve had called jack and Natasha over at the hospital after Fury had been taken there and the three avengers were standing in a room with a window that had view on fury's hospital room

"Tell me about the shooter" Jack said

"He's fast, strong" Steve said
"Had a metal arm"

"Ballistics?" Agent Hill asked
"Three slugs, no riffling. Completely untraceable" she added

"Soviet-made" Natasha said

"Yeah" agent Hill confirmed

"Nurse, help me with the drape" the doctor said as some signals in the room were going off
"BP's dropping"
"Defibrillator!"

The Nurses brought out a machine to shock fury's heart with and put the stickers on his chest

"I want you to charge him at 100"

"Don't do this to me, Nick" Natasha whispered and Jack noticed how she cared for him, which had impact on Jack

"Three, Two, One" the doctor counted down before shocking Fury with the machine

His body stiffened for a second but didn't react to the shock as more machines were going off

"Pulse?" The doctor asked

"No pulse" a nurse responded

"Okay, 200, please" the doctor said

"Stand back" the doctor said While Jack was checking out how Steve was feeling

Jack was well aware of Steve wanting to act more tough around the avengers but he also knew Steve cared

Jack carefully brushed his pinky along Steve's hand which made Steve look down at him

Steve rubbed his thumb over Jacks hand, seeming to appreciate the gesture but also pulled back quickly to make sure nobody would see

"Three, Two, One, clear!" The doctor said as he shocked fury again

"Pulse?" He asked a little panicked

"No pulse" a nurse answered

"Don't do this to me, Nick" Natasha repeated softly

There was a loud moment of silence in both of the rooms as realization began to settle

"What's the time?" The doctor asked and we all knew what just happened

Both agent Hill and Natasha had a tear down their face and Steve walked away

"1:03, doctor" a nurse replied with the time

"Time of death, 1:03 a.m." the doctor said

Jack was looking at everybody, trying to feel empathy and observing how everyone was reacting to Fury's death

A couple moments passed and the three avengers and agent hill were now in a room with fury's dead body for them to say goodbye

"I need to take him" agent Hill said

Steve walked up to Natasha, prepared to comfort her and he just said her name

A short moment passed before Natasha ignored him and walked out of the room into the busy hallway

"Natasha!" Steve followed her

"Why was fury in your apartment?" She asked him after she had stopped walking

Stunned by the question Steve lied

"I don't know" he replied

Jack had walked into the hallway too at this point and walked into Rumlow and his agents
