hehe enjoy. Sandro has story too if you like to read. :)

JOSEPH SIMON MARCOS

Her name was Avery Christa Mendoza. She is a literature major here in Oxford Brookes. Yes. I know. She dated one of my friends before but they didn't last long because Avery was too focused on her studies according to him. I laughed. Who wouldn't when you are a Filipino studying abroad. Getting a visa is one thing, the cost of living and other expenses. So might as well study hard. My friend mentioned to me before that she is a scholar here in our school. Works in the library on her free time and at a small coffee shop on the ground floor of my apartment building near the university.

I see her often but I do not talk to her. I don't know. I find it weird to say. 'Hey, I'm Simon. You dated one of my friends before and I heard you are a Filipino' or maybe something like 'Hi, I'm Simon, My dad is Bongbong Marcos' I cringed at that thought so I just watched her from afar.

Then there was this Saturday morning. I went to the library to return the management books I borrowed the other day, She was the one in the reception. As usual, she was busy reading her Greek Mythology book. I always see her around holding that book.

"Good morning. I would like to return these." I spoke, interrupting her from her readings. I caught her smiling before putting down the book. She looked up to me with her protruding eyes. It was the first time I looked at her this close.

She glanced at the books. There were four of them. "Ang sipag." I heard her mutter.

I chuckled. "Of course para money well spent on my education." I replied.

She widened her eyes. "Omg. I am sorry." She exclaimed.

"Nah. It's fine. I wasn't offended or anything naman."

She pressed her lips together. "Sorry ulit."

"You should buy me coffee then." I joked. She stopped writing on the borrower's card and looked at me.

"6pm pa matatapos shift ko dito eh."

I was taken aback that she would take it seriously so I found myself saying. "I'll wait for you then. You do your work and I do mine. I bought my laptop naman so I can just busy myself with school reports." I gave her a reassuring smile.

She nodded and so I went to find myself a seat. I sat down by he corner where I could see her. She went back reading the Greek Mythology book after putting the books I returned in a white basket.

Avery had fair skin complexion. She had a bit of a wavy hair that landed on her chest. Her eyes were protruding set of charcoal black. She has a bit of a pointy nose and full lips. Like that of Angelina Jolie. She is beautiful if I was to be asked.

It was six thirty in the evening when I looked at the time. Avery was  no longer in the reception table. I stood up and picked my stuff, thinking where to find her.

"Sorry natagalan." She suddenly spoke behind me.

I looked at her. "It's fine. Are we good to go?" I asked.

"Oo."

"Can we stop by my apartment first? I want to take leave my stuff and take a shower," I told her while we were walking. "If you do not mind." I added.

She looked at me and nodded in the end. I don't feel comfortable kasi if I don't shower so I was glad she agreed.

"Where do you live pala?" I asked.
