AVERY

Simon and I left Baguio that week. His planned short trip in Baguio to sue me turned to two weeks vacation. Naunang umuwi sina Vinny at Sandro the day after I saw them. We stopped by La Union. Wala lang. I just said I want to watch the waves of Bauang and he asked the driver to park in a nearby resort.

"Are you sure Simon?" I asked as we walked by the sandy beach after paying for the cottage.

He looked at me. "Yes Avery."

"Hindi ka ba papagalitan nila BBM?" I asked.

"I'm an adult now Avery." He said sarcastically.

Edi ikaw na ang adult.

Nilingon ko si kuya driver na nakasunod sa amin habang hawak iyong camera ni Simon. Nakisuyo kasi si Simon na picturan kami sa dagat. Memories daw. He is fucking sweet.

"What other memories do you want us to document?" Tanong ko.

He looked at me and took my hands. "Kuya game na!" Sigaw niya kay kuya driver.

I looked at him. "Anong gagawin?"

"Just be yourself." He replied, swiping some strands of my hair behind my ears. It made me smile. I do not know what he meant by being myself but I am enjoying his company. Me, him, at the beach was something uncalled for. But I loved it. I loved his presence.

"Should we dance?" I asked, giggling.

"Give me your phone." He said. I gave him a questioned look but still obliged. I stood beside him to look what he will do. We clicked Spotify and searched for the song 'Sunday Morning' by Maroon 5.

"What's with the song?" I asked.

He shrugged his shoulders. "Music." He mumbled. He raised the volume and placed the phone on his chest pocket.

Simon took my hand and faced me, his eyes looking at mine. There he goes again, making my heart flutter just by looking at his. He placed my arms around his neck while his hands were placed on my waist. We walked in slow motion, feeling the music despite the La Union heat and sunlight. I glanced at Noel, kuyang driver. He was smiling at us while taking a picture.

I chuckled and shook my head.

"This is embarrassing." I breathed.

"Just listen to the music and dance AC." He replied.

Sunday morning, rain is falling

Steal some covers, share some skin

I caught him grinning. I bit my lips, I was probably blushing at the moment. It was one of the best nights I shared with Simon besides the one I spent with him back in Baguio.

Clouds are shrouding is in moments, unforgettable

You twist to fit the mold I am in

But things just get so crazy, Living life gets hard to do

That I would gladly hit the road, get up  and go if I knew

That someday it would lead me back to you

I wanted to go back and ask Simon to take me after I faced my dilemma back at home. But  I was afraid he wouldn't feel the same as I did. I was scared that to him, Sunday morning is just another addition to his Oxford adventures.

We stopped. He looked at me and kissed me. I widened my eyes in surprise but closed them as I replied to his hungry kisses.

"Maybe the story played a significant role in both of our lives AC," He smiled. "It led me back to  you just as how I have always hoped for."

I giggled and tiptoed to kiss Simon.

After La Union, we hit the road again and stopped over in Vigan after a few hours. There were no dull moments with Simon because we caught up with each other's lives for the past four years.

"Sandro said he is here in Vigan with Vinny. We should join them. Samahan niya din tayo sa apartment niya na tutuluyan mo." He informed.

I only nodded.

We stopped by the Calle Crisologo because according to Simon, his brother is around that area. Pinauna na namin si kuya Noel because we will be using the car that Sandro bought.

"Picture mo ako sa Calle Crisologo." I asked him.

He smiled and nudged me to take a pose as he carried my bag. I did not count how many shots he took but I was smiling all throughout our photoshoot because he was very patient with every pose that I took.

"They are already here na daw," He spoke and looked around. "There they are." He held my hands as we walked by the sidewalk where Vinny was standing as he leaned in the car.

"Hey AC. Are you all right now?" He asked.

I nodded. "Yeah. Thanks Vinny. I feel so much better now." I replied.

"Simon made you felt better?" He teased.

I only giggled. "Apparently so."

Vinny rolled his eyes. "So kayo na?" He asked.

"No." I answered, biting my lips.

Vinny frowned. "And you came here with him? What were you thinking?!"

"Okay Vinny. I'm a responsible adult and I will take care of her so chill. Please." Simon butted in, rolling his eyes.

"Whatever Simon." Vinny rolled his eyes and went back inside the car.

Simon opened the backseat door for me and let me go inside first.

"Hey AC." Sandro greeted from the driver's seat.

"Hi." I greeted back.

Simon joined me in the backseat. Sandro drove somewhere, probably where his apartment was.

"Please sanitize the apartment if ever both of you are planning something sneaky." Sandro spoke, eyeing at Simon and I in the backseat.

I choked on the water I was drinking.

"Hey!" Simon exclaimed.

"That was disgusting." Vinny muttered in the passenger's seat.

"You were with a woman back in my Oxford apartment but I did not tell you anything about sanitizing my room!" Simon retorted.

Sandro widened his eyes. "I did not bring a woman in your apartment!"

"Sinungaling." I mumbled from my seat.

"Tapos you are pa-fall sa babae kanina sa cafe!" Vinny exclaimed. "Babaero!" Bintang niya.

"I am not!" Sandro exclaimed and looked at Vinny for a while. "Speak for yourself! You had sex in the beach!"

"Atleast hindi sa kwarto ng ibang tao!" Vinny retorted.

Simon made a face. "We know Vinny. Sa tent ang trip mo." He replied, rolling his eyes.

I sighed and just listened to their continuous laglagan. Si Sandro ang may pinaka-maraming adventure. Good luck sa babae na jojowain niya.
