The bell rang, signaling the release of the kids to leave the torturous place called "school". A girl named Kate stayed after class. She had a question about the upcoming homework assignments.
"Ms. McCaffree!" She called to her English teacher. "Hi. Um. I'm going to be away on another vacation from January 20th to February 10th and I need you to sign this and I need the homework for those dates, please."
Ms. McCaffree nodded, signing the paper and going through her files. Kate was always traveling across the world, accompanying her parents on vacations that Kate didn't know why they were taking but she went along with it. Ms. McCaffree gave her a pile of homework. "So where are you going on vacation this time?"
"Oh! We're going to Australia." Kate explained while organizing the given papers into her English binder.
The teacher nodded. "How exciting." Ms. McCaffree acted rather annoyed of all the vacations Kate took.
Kate walked out of the classroom as 12 girls ran up to her, talking about the upcoming party that Kate supposably had to come to, like it was a life or death situation. Kate acted excited, "Oh my god! Will there be alcohol?"
Her friends calmed down. One of them spoke up but in a low whisper. "Yea ofcourse! It wouldn't be a party if it didn't have alcohol!"
Kate glared at them trying to get the shrieking and giggling to calm down. "Girls! You know I don't drink or smoke! I'm not going to the party! I don't care if I don't go that my social life will go down the drain! I'm not gunna be around wasted jerks who try to get in another's pants!" Kate was one to speak her mind. It was a good thing but sometimes it was bad.
The girls sighed and walked away in defeat. Kate let out a giggle opening her locker. She gathered her stuff and pushed it into her designer handbag from Paris. A guy knocked on her locker door, trying to get her attention.
"oh. Uh. Hi?" Kate spoke, shutting her locker door.
"hey. So wanna be my date to the party tonight? I hear it's gunna be fun and I can make sure the fun is there!" he said, winking at his last statement.
Kate sighed, ignoring his invite and decided to ask him a question. "Who the hell are you?"
He chuckled rather fake like. "My name is Blake." he said.
"Well Blake.. I have more important things to do with my life than accompany a sweaty guy to a party where he will get intoxicated and try to get in my pants!" Kate spat while rather aggressively pulling her bag onto her shoulder and walking away leaving Blake speechless.
Kate was beautiful and had guys falling for her all the time. She was also intelligent enough to deny the ones that were getting drunk and high all the time.
She walked out of Westside High, the school she attended, she continued to her bright red convertible. Kate started the engine and drove out of the death trap.
She continued to the beautiful 3 story house she lived in. It was basically a mansion! She parked her car in the garage to the far left. Her family had 3 garages, one for each family member; her mom, her dad, and herself.
She gathered her things and walked inside the huge front door. She walked up to the third floor, where her bedroom was. She went in her bedroom and sat her bag by her desk.
Kate went into the bathroom, her own bathroom that was connected to her bedroom and nowhere else. Each bedroom had it's own bathroom. Kate's house had 6 bedrooms. Kate also had a huge walk in closet.
She took off the little makeup she was wearing upon her face. When she had her makeup off, she didn't look much different. She only wore makeup to conceal the small blemishes that would show up a few times a year and to extend the length of her lashes although they looked like they were at least an inch long!
Kate was a typical fantasy girl. She was rich, beautiful, skinny and fit, had a car, 2 parents, and she was also very intelligent! Kate was popular, too.
Although she practically had everything, she felt like she was missing something. A family. She did have 2 parents that loved her but they were always busy doing who knows what? When the family wasn't away on vacations, Kate's parents went on small business trips.
Kate laid sprawled out on her bed. "E-excuse me?" a male voice had spoken. "I don't mean to interrupt but I-I was hired for your landscaping needs and I can't find your parents anywhere.."

Kate's POV

I quickly sat up, listening to the male voice speaking to me. I got off my bed and walked up to him. He had blonde hair with dark brunette roots. His facial features, stunning. I didn't realize my staring until he spoke again. "um. My name is Niall.." he trailed off.
"Hi Niall. I'm Kate. Sorry, I didn't know my parents hired someone. They're off at a meeting." I explained.
