High school fantasy (Completed)

The Hospital

Uriah's POV

"She's up!"

Gale runs into the hallway.

"Katniss?" I ask.

"Of course, who else?"

We all stand up immediately.

"Are the doctors letting us in yet?"

"They said we're allowed in, all of us, except for Cato."

Cato sits down sadly, we're all still ignoring him. And I'm pretty sure if he wants to talk to someone, he should make some new friends.

I follow everyone into a room on the left of the hallway.

It's a comfy looking room with a large, white bed situated in the middle of it. I can see Katniss awake, but pale. There's a serious of wires and drips attached to her arms and shoulders. A large brown bandage is wrapped around her ankle. It's dotted with deep crimson spots.

Gale has dragged up a chair next to her bed. He looks angry and concerned. Peeta and the girls have also found chairs and are sitting around the room.

No one says anything for a while and I can see Katniss scanning the room, looking at everyone. She looks frightened.

"Cato isn't here," Tris says sweetly noticing her discomfort.

Katniss jumps at Cato's name, but Gale touches her hand softly. She bites her lip. I can see tears welling up in her eyes.

Christina gives her a sideways hug, carefully so that she wouldn't hurt.

I decide to speak up.

"Yeah Katniss don't worry, you've got us and soon enough you'll be back at school and things will be back to normal."

She smiles at me gratefully.

After a while we decide we should let Katniss get some rest.

Katniss' POV

After about two weeks at the hospital, I'm allowed to return home. The doctors had to do surgery to fix a minor dysfunction with my lungs, that took about three days. They put my my ankle in a cast too, they say it will take a month before it can come off.

I'm so glad to see Prim and my mother again, I mean they've come to see me at the hospital, but most of the time I've been sleeping or be under a surgery.

I get dropped of by an ambulance at my house. I thank them for the ride and use my crutches to get to the front door. Balancing on my crutches I ring our bell. Prim immediately answers. She squeals when she sees me and gives me a hug. I smile into her blond hair.

"I've missed you Katniss," she says letting me go.

I enter into our house and take a seat on the couch. My mother greets me with a hug and gives me a bowl of soup for lunch. It's Monday today, so the others must be at school, I can't wait to see them again tomorrow, except I don't want to face Cato.

Prim told me that she stayed at home today because she wanted to see me when I got back from the hospital. I'm glad she didn't go to school because she's fun to talk to, considering I can't really move around much.

Prim told me about a cute new boy in her class, I told her about the kiss with Gale and that he probably forgot about it. I'm actually not really sure if I want to be his girlfriend, I mean the date was fun, but I think I like him more as a friend.

By the time Prim and I go to sleep it's around 11:00pm. I'm excited for tomorrow and can't wait to see my friends again.
