"Welcome, players, to the fifth game. Before we begin, please make your way down the steps and choose one of the mannequins that you see presented before you. Once you've chosen, take the corresponding vest. They are numbered 1 through 17."
"Shit"
"Let me repeat the instructions. Please make your way down the steps and choose one of the mannequins that you see before you, and take the corresponding vest. They are numbered 1 through 17."
I stood thinking what number do i chose? 1? No. Too risky. But going last could also be a bad option.
I noticed Saebyeok going for number 16.
"Your attention, please. The numbers you see on the mannequins correspond to the order in which you will be playing. Please make your decision carefully."
I stood thinking what number do I chose? 1? No. Too risky. But going last could also be a bad option.
If this is the order we'd play, then the low numbers are better. It's probably gonna have a time limit like Red Light, Green Light, and Honeycomb.
It's better to get a head start. Wait. No. It'd be too dangerous to go first without knowing the game.
If I stay in the back, I can watch the ones who go first and make a plan like in Tug-of-War.
I ran and got number 15. I needed to be safe.

"Hello, players, let me welcome you all to the fifth game." The woman on the PA spoke.
"The fifth game is Glass Stepping Stones. The stepping stones before you are made from one of two types of glass, one will be tempered glass and the other will be normal glass. The tempered glass stepping stone as strong enough to hold the weight of two people. However, the normal glass will break even if just one person steps on it. For this game, you will guess which one of next two tiles is the tile made of the stronger tempered glass, and only step on those across the 18 pairs of tile."
Number 96 gave Gi-hun a nervous look. "You may then cross over to the other side safely and pass this game."
"That means the numbers on us Are the order in which you will cross the bridge." Player 96 spoke. His voice cracked as he spoke.
I felt Saebyeok grab my hand. She was just as nervous as i was.
"But then, how do I tell which is the tempered one?" No reply. I guess he needs to guess.
(I'm not motivated enough to write all the people dying so ill just skip to when the main stuff happens)
"Move. Quick! You can't just stop." Sang-woo yelled at the man before him. "Hold on. Wait, one second. I can tell the panels apart."
"You can tell?"
"I used to make glass for over 30 years. You can't normally tell, but... when you look at the tempered glass when it's lit from the side, then you can see faint stain marks." Thank the lord someone knew a tactic.
The man before Sang-woo exalted. "Another hint, the sound. Tempered glass is made at a heat over 700 degrees. Pound on it with a hammer and it rings clearer than normal glass."
"Why wasn't all this brought up earlier? If you had led everybody from..." Gi-hun spoke from behind me.
"Why would I? The players up here tried to kill us at every chance." I scoffed. "You say the players tried to kill us at every chance but thats what you did, except you didnt murder them physically."
Player 13 sighed at my response. Obviously annoyed. "Hmm."
Suddenly, the lights shut off. "What's wrong? What's the problem?" Sang-woo panted. "I can't tell them apart in the dark." Player 13 breathed nervously.
I nervously inhaled. "All right, which one? You need to choose now."
"I need to listen to the sound. You got anything to throw?" Everyone shook their head except Gi-hun, who happened to have a marble.
Player 13 threw the marble at the glass. The glass made a clinking noise. it bounced off.
"I need another. I need to hear the right one, so I can be sure." Sang-woo sighed at the man's words, clearing frustrated.
"I can't tell what it is."
"I'll pick, okay?" Sang-woo grunted as he jumped onto player 13's glass. Pushing him off.
Player 13 shrieked as he hit the floor. I gasped. My eyes widened.
I knew something was with him. From the start he was.. suspicious.
We all jumped onto the finishing platform. "We made i-
The glass from behind us exploded. Flying over us, cutting our skin. Causing us to bleed.
I covered my face so I wouldn't get cut anymore but...
Something worse happened.
Something way... way worse.
