09 - Friday Night

It was a Friday night and Noah spent it with his friends, minus Sabrina and Corey. He knows they saw the picture he posted. They liked it, but whether or not they read the comments, he has no idea.

Since they didn't show up, he doesn't know whether Joey and Oliver texted them or not.

He didn't think about it too much. They didn't come. All he can assume is that they couldn't come, that they were busy. He didn't want to know why they didn't come. He doesn't want to know if anyone texted Sabrina or Corey.

He feels better telling himself that they were busy rather than them not being invited or they didn't want to come.

Noah and his friends went to get sushi, like Joey said.

Once they were at the restaurant, they placed their order and they proceeded to talk as they waited for their food.

"Alright, what are you guys doing tomorrow?" Joey wondered.

"Nothing," Noah shrugged.

"What's everyone doing, other than Noah," Joey clarified. "I know you're not doing anything."

"Oh," Noah said.

His face turning slightly as his friends laughed.

"Nothing, probably," Liz shrugged.

"Yeah, I'm not doing anything either," Maya said.

"I don't know," Oliver said. "I'm just going along with the ride."

Finn nodded in agreement.

"Okay, we're all going out tomorrow," Joey decided. "I'll text Sabrina and Corey and see if they wanna come."

They all nodded in agreement.

"Hey, why didn't Sabrina and Corey come tonight?" Finn wondered.

"I don't know," Joey shrugged. "I texted them, but they didn't answer."

Noah's heart sank.

Joey's phone screen lit up.

"Oh, wait, Sabrina just answered my text," Joey said.

He unlocked his phone and read the text.

"She said she's so sorry," Joey read, "and that she's hanging out with her sisters."

"So Sabrina is busy with her sisters," Noah said, "but Corey hasn't said anything."

Joey nodded.

At least now Noah knows that Sabrina was actually busy and he wasn't making an excuse or her.

Corey didn't respond to Joey's text at all that night.

Every once in a while, the thought of if Corey's okay and where he is would pop up in Noah's head, but he'd quickly find himself distracted by what his friends are talking about.
