"Oh fuck- I'm sorry- I didn't think you were here-" Y/N stumbled on her own words, quickly tossing up a hand in an attempt to cover her eyes as she shied away.

It was pretty often she found herself sleeping in Xiao's room at the Inn, considering he told her Adepti didn't require sleep, so he rarely ever used it, and she could save Mora by just using his room to rest instead.

That, and he was usually gone, off hunting demons and defending Liyue.

The two had strictly always been friends, both finding out that they were kindred spirits, both having a dark and twisted past, but trying for a better future.

Even though Xiao wasn't very fond of humans, he'd discovered that she was one of the few he'd despised the least. She wasn't overbearing, she didn't talk his ear off or gush like some frenzied fan girl over him. Nor was she afraid of him, which having such a neutral reaction was refreshing.

They'd run into each other because she'd actually skulked away from the busy kitchen to try and find silence on the roof, where she then ran into him, and the rest was history.

There had never been any flirtatious actions or subtle hints, both not typically caring for that type of thing or also being far too busy to find the time, so they'd always just remained the closest of friends. She was an adventurer, often going off on her own to complete commissions for the people of Teyvat or explore the land for loot.

Without a thought in the world, she'd just barged into his room, automatically assuming he was gone as he usually was, only now to be standing awkwardly before him, shielding her eyes from his unusual lack of clothing.

A single towel was all that hid him from her completely.

Y/N had come in and quickly shoved her shoes and pants off at the door after poking a head in just to check, not realizing he'd been in the shower until he waltzed right out in nothing but a towel like he owned the place.

... Which he technically did.

She didn't even realize in her own embarrassed state that she was standing in nothing but the tank top that had been under her clothes and her underwear.

They were both in quite an awkward and vulnerable predicament.

Xiao had yet to speak a word, his only reaction being a slight raise of his eyebrow, remaining completely unbothered, his eyes not moving from her own either.

As subtly as possible, she squished her thighs inward in an attempt to block his view if he were to cast a wayward glance toward, which he still didn't.

"Why is your face so red?"

Really? Out of everything, that's what he asks? It's not like they both weren't standing in front of each other half-naked, his torso completely exposed to her, abs still dripping slightly with water from his shower.

"I- you- HELLO?!" Y/N squeaked out, tossing a hand out to gesture at him as her other daintily covered her lower body.

"What?" Xiao flatly questioned, either completely naive or just completely uncaring of the situation, gazing on at her with half-lidded eyes, unable to place what she was making such a big deal about.

"I'll just- sorry. I'll be back later." Y/N turned to bend down and grab her pants and shoes off the floor to leave and give him some time to get dressed, only to have a strong hand firmly grasp her wrist before she could, causing her gaze to travel back up to rest on sharp amber eyes.

"Where are you going?" His voice hung low, almost sultry, setting her stomach into a whirlwind of butterflies and nerves.

Xiao also hadn't been a fan of physical contact, and this was the first time she could remember where he'd actually touched her, and this was willingly. It was his doing.
