"W-What?" I stutter.
"Dana, baby are you pregnant?" Ms. Harris asked, shocked. She must have come to see what all the yelling was about. She stepped further into the room. " Why didn't-
"No mom, I'm not pregnant. Never was. It's amazing what you can buy online." She said as if it were nothing, never taking her eyes off me.
I had no idea what was happening. I didn't have time to catch Ms Harris up. I needed answers. Now.
"The sonograms? The test?" Shock wouldn't allow me to form a proper sentence.
I couldn't believe what I was hearing. Dana had done some crazy things for attention, but this was fucked up on so many levels.
"What are you not getting?" She stood with her hand on her hip staring at me like she hadn't just dropped a bomb. She turned around to pick up her laptop. She opened it to show me what she was looking at when I came in.

"Dana what has come over you?! Why would you lie about this?" Her mom asked, looking over my shoulder at the screen.
"Oh I don't know, maybe if I gave him something he always wanted. That maybe, just maybe he'd pay me some attention."
"Wow."
"But once again I was ignored, you were only concerned about the baby. Not me! I'm tired of always being in second place. Guess cause I'm not perfect little LaToya.
Her mother had gone so quiet I wouldn't have known she was still in the room if she weren't standing in front of me.
"I was really hoping everybody was wrong about this. About you. I defended you. What were you gonna do in nine months?" I let out a humorless laugh. "You know what, it doesn't even matter. Get your daughter some help."
I stormed out of the house, pissed that I didn't have my car. Once I reached the end of the block I ordered a Lyft.
