A successful date

"At 6:00 near the beach," I called after him. "Don't forget!"

"I won't, Wise girl."

I slipped into my cabin and pulled out my phone, thankful no one was around. I immediately called my best friend.

"Hey, Kane."

"HeyYyyY, gorll." A voice cracked.

I sighed, "Why is that everytime I call you, you're drunk?"

"You call everytime I get drunk."

"I knew this would happen, so I came prepared. I'm a lil tipsy myself." I grinned.

"Ooooh, dope girl."  I cringed. Sadie was weirder when drunk.

"So, how you,"  There were some hiccups, "doin?"

"I was bored. I thought you'd entertain me." I rummaged around for the navy blue dress I had borrowed.

She gasped, "You're using me!?"

"Yup."

"You wouldn't do that. You're too good for this world."

"I asked him out."

I heard sputtering noises, a round of coughs and, "huh?"

"You heard m-"

"YOU ASKED HIM OUT! DOPE!!"

"Stop saying that or I will punch you." I sighed.

"I'm so happy. You've been flirting for-" hiccup "-ages." She rambled on. "Oh, there's a guy winking at me. His pants are off. "

"What the-"

"He's asking me out? Should I say yes?"

"Dude,  you have a boyfriend! Well, two boyfriends......" I groaned. "Is Carter there with you?"

"Yes. He's currently facepalming."

"Good. I gotta get ready for my date."

"Ohhh, are you gonna do the Frick frack?"

"What? No I-

"Condom, Annie. Condom."

"Gods, I'm gonna hang up."

"Nooo, don't leave meee."

"You're with Carter, sweetie. You're in good hands."

"His hands are currently occupied."

"Okay, bye."

I hung up and took a deep breath.

And screamed into my pillow.

I picked up the dress Piper had lent me oh so generously, and put it on. The blue V-neck dress went just below my knees, and there were small glitter whatevers splattered all over the hem of the dress, making me want to pick them out.

I looked at myself in the mirror. Though the color went well with my skin and overall looked good, something was missing.

I put on my owl earrings, and the thin, silver necklace my dad got for me for my 16th birthday. This was my first wearing it, so I was extra careful. I put on some powder, lip gloss, and did everything that woukd make me look fresher, and waited. Waited for my best friend to pick me up on a date.
