"Okay. Come on, then. We have to help-" Percy started.

He was cut off by a loud scream. Annabeth.

They all turned around to see Polyphemus laughing with glee.

"Hah." He yelled. "Nasty invisible girl."

Percy watched, panicking, as Annabeth struggled.

"Let her go, you big ugly piece of crap!" He yelled.

"OKAY!" He grinned and it unsettled Percy a little. Polyphemus walked forward and dropped Annabeth right into a big, pretty deep crater. 𝘞𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘥 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮?

Percy was just bout to run to her and help her up, when out of the cornwr of his eye, he saw the cyclops pick up a huge Boulder. An evil grin appeared on his face.

Percy realized what was happening a little too late.

"NO!" He shouted just as the monster dropped the rock in the crater.

~~

Suddenly, he was in a dark chamber. He loomed around and saw the 7 with nervous looks on their faces.

He spotted Annbeth standing next to a hole. Her face was gaunt, bleeding cuts were all over her body. But no one can mistake the look of pure relief and joy on her face as she saw Percy. He let out a relieved laugh and ran to her. They met in the middle, and Percy pulled her closer, spinning her around.

"You're here." She cried. "You're really here."

Percy lifted her chin up with his finger and said, "I'll always come back for you, Annabeth."

She cried and hugged him harder.

Everything was fine. She was safe. His friends were safe. The statue was safe. He just wanted to go back home now.

But, as always, all good things come to an end.

Out of nowhere, Annabeth was yanked backwards, away from Percy's grasp.

She yelled. Her face was stricken with pain as she was dragged towards the hole with unbelievable speed.

"Help them!" Hazel screamed.

Percy lunged at her, his fingers grabbing hold of Annabeth's. She slammed into a rock, and screamed again. She was now dangling off the edge, Percy being the only reason she hadn't fallen yet.

"Hold on, Wise girl." He croaked

She whimpered, "I-I can't." Everything went still. And just as fast it came, the silence was washed away by the horrible screams of Annabeth, and Percy shut his eyes and sobbed. She was dragged so fast and hard, that his iron grip on her hand loosened.

𝘐 𝘨𝘰 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘳𝘶𝘴, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘵𝘰𝘰.

"No." He mumbled. The pit. "No no no." He sprinted towards Annabeth. His hands barely brushed against hers, and she fell over the chasm, her hand holding onto a tiny ledge.

"No, Wise girl." He whimpered.

Annabeth finally looked up at him. She gave him a small, sad smile and whispered, "I'm sorry, Seaweed brain." And she let go of the ledge, and fell into the dark-

Percy woke up, gasping. He felt around him and finally found Annabeth's hand. Relief washed over him. It was just a nightmare.

But he couldn't close his eyes without the images plaguing his mind.

He looked down at Annabeth, only to find her staring blankly at the ceiling.

Percy furrowed his eyebrows, "Annabeth? Why aren't you asleep?" She didn't respond.

Panic seized him. He quickly shot up and yelled, "Annabeth!" Only now did he notice she wasn't breathing.

He gently slapped her cheek, and the momentum caused her head to loll to one side. A thin line of blood trickled down from the corner of her mouth.

Percy shrieked and tried to find a pulse, anything. He was shaking, and so was she, and more blood kept pouring out of her mouth, her nose, everywhere.

Percy's heart hammered against his chest. He couldnt breathe. Annabeth was dead. Annabeth was 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥. 𝘈𝘯𝘯𝘢𝘣𝘦𝘵𝘩 𝘸𝘢𝘴 𝘥-

He woke up yet again. He frantically searched for a clock, and found it but his bedstand. He pinched himself all over his arm, hoping this wasn't another dream.

His eyes spotted Annabeth, and he sobbed in relief as he saw the sleeping figure, jer breathing steady.

He sobbed again, not taking his eyes off of her, afraid she might disappear if he did.

The loud noises of his cries that he tried to muffle woke her up. She yawned, opening her eyes slowly, and sat up. She saw him crying, and all the sleep left her eyes.

She immediately wrapped her arms around him, rubbing slow circles on his back.

"Hey, hey. Are you okay?" She asked soflty. Her eyes were wide with worry, and Percy couldn't control himself.

He leaned forward and kissed her, pulling her impossibly close to him. He tried not to think about the dream, and focused on Annabeth, her breathing, her heartbeat, her warmth.

She pulled away and caressed his cheek, and he closed his and sighed. No one spoke for a while, thw room filled with their breathing. The images haunted him. He shut his eyes tighter, thinking about Annabeth in hopes they would go away. It had seemed so real. 𝘚𝘰 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭...

"Nightmare?" Annabeth asked soflty. Percy didn't trust his voice, so he opted for nodding. Silence.

"Wanna talk about it?" He didn't, but he figured talking with someone would calm him down. Especially if that someone was Annabeth.

"Y-you were dead." He said. He found it funny. Of course she died, he wouldn't make such a fuss about it otherwise.

He tried telling more, but his voice didn't work anymore.

Annabeth raised her eyebrows, and despite the statement, smiled. Her smile made him smile, and she smiled wider watching him smile.

She patted her lap, and Percy laid down on it. Her fingers wrapped themselves on his hair, rubbing and ruffling until Percy calmed down.

"I'm alive, Percy. I'm not going anywhere." She murmured.

"It just," he said, his voice shaking. "It felt so real, Annabeth. You were dead. You l-looked so 𝘥𝘦𝘢𝘥. His voice got weaker and weaker as he spoke.

"It's okay. I'm fine and I'm alive, okay? I'm right here." She dropped a kiss on his head.

He sniffed and got up, pulling her with him. "Sorry I woke you up." He sighed.

"Hey, no. You can wake me up anytime, Seaweed brain. Even when I'm dead asleep." She whispered.

He shook his head, "Please don't say 'dead'."

"Oh. Right. Sorry." She smiled at him. "Just remember that I'll always be there for you. And that I'm never leaving you. And that I love you."

He smiled at her, and they just sat there staring at each other with stupid smiles on their faces, and Percy loved her, and he couldn't live without her.

"And I love you."
