I was in a rush writing this idk why I even tried-

Percy grunted, swearing like a sailor in his head as he tried to pull on his costume.

He checked himself in the mirror. He was dressed up as Vision from the marvel movies. He dress was alright, his hair was miraculously tamed, but he left his face alone as it would turn red at the sight of Annabeth anyways.

Speaking of her, she was dressing up as Wanda. No idea why they agreed to dress up as a couple, but he didn't mind it.

So.

He yelled out a goodbye to his mom, promised to bring home lots of candies for Tyson and Estelle, and took off to his best friend's house.

~~~
"I'M HE-"
The rest of the words never came out, as freezing cold water poured all over his head. He sputtered, and wiped his eyes calmly.
"What the fuck, Annabeth?"
She emerged out from behind the door, laughing her ass out, and he didn't forget to take a look at her costume. As he predicted, he felt his face starting to warm up.
She yelled, "IT'S A TRICK!"
"YEAH, I GET IT BUT WHY?!"
"I DON'T KNOW LET'S GOO!"
They took off.
Their first stop: Clarrise La Rue's apartment.
"Trick or treat!"
She opened the door with a grumpy face, threw a bunch of lollipops into the basket, and shut the door without a word.
They looked at each other, and then shrugged.
Percy grabbed one lollipop, and waved it at her face. "Found a blue one."
They went from door to door, yelling the phrase so loud that some people literally threw the candies at their face, before slamming their doors.
"Rude." Annabeth muttered, but she was happily muching on her favorite chocolate.
And there was that weird kid Luke, who kept trying to take Annabeth to his house because he had "Candies in my pants, Annie. They taste really good."
He left them alone with a red hand print on his face eventually.
Annabeth was in a sour mood for a while because of that jerk. Percy kept trying to cheer her up by saying corny jokes, but he felt like they were stupid and not funny at all,  especially when Annabeth kept saying "These are stupid and not funny at all."
As they walked, chatting aimlessly, they got to this neighborhood they had no idea existed. The entire backyard was filled with huge and tall trees.
"In we go?" Percy asked her.
She nodded. "In we go."
This place was creepy, there's no denying that. All the houses were big and dusty and abandoned, and Percy expected a wild figure to jump out any second the whole time. Annabeth almost ran away when she thought she saw a spider.
"I don't think we'll get any treats in here, Wise girl."
"Uh huh." She sighed. "Let's go ba...woah."
He looked at the direction she was gawking at, with that unmistakable glint in those grey orbs, and he rolled his eyes.
"Here we go again."
"Look at this great ass architecture!"
She took a deep breath, preparing to ramble on and on about buildings, and he took a deep breath, preparing to run away.
But he stayed with her anyway because he was in love with her, but that's besides the point.
The clouds cleared, and Percy finally, finally  pulled his eyes away from her face to look at the moon, when she suddenly stopped rambling.
She pointed at this particular window of the house, and Percy whipped his head around to take a look right when this white figure passed by.
Annabeth stared at him, "Did you see that?"
"Yeah...." he muttered.
He scanned the place, and his heart nearly jumped out of his body when he noticed a tall figure near the woods.
"Bloody hell!" He said. "I'm gonna slowly back away, pull you with me, so that we can get out of this place, because I think I'm looking at the Slenderman."
"No, wait!" Annabeth grabbed his arm. "Look."
His heartbeat calmed down as he saw the baskets around him, filled with delicious looking treats.
Annabeth turned to him. "Guess there are candies here, after all."
"Hello, sir. Trick or treat?"
The guy didn't respond.
"Sir?" Percy tried again.
He kept his non existent eyes above them.
They kept staring, when Annabeth looked down and rubbed her neck, "He's so tall, my neck is cramping."
And that was coming from a 5'7 girl.
"Uh...we're just gonna..." Percy grabbed a handful of candies from the basket, before taking a step back.
"Uh....thank you?" Annabeth said.
Percy facepalmed. "He's not talking because he doesn't have a mouth!" He chuckled.
"Yeah....that's it." She laughed along nervously.
They heard a thump, and looked behind them, alarmed.
It was just a cat.
"Hey, isn't that Mrs. Fondler's cat? The one that went missing?" Annabeth's eyes lit up.
Percy gasped, "Yeahhhh, aw she's gonna be so happy!"
They giggled and turned back to the man.
"So, bye si- oh wow." Annabeth said.
The man was gone.
"Maybe he left cause we weren't paying attention to him.....?" She frowned.
Percy slowly backed away.
"Um Annabeth....maybe we should go.."
She was still frowning, but then nodded.
"Psst! Percy, Annabeth!"
They turned back to the tree that talked.
"Leo? What the hell are you doing there, man?"
"We're hiding to scare people off! Come on."
Percy and Annabeth grinned at each other.
"Come on, Seaweed brain." She grabbed his hand, interlacing their fingers. She turned away quickly, but he could swear he saw a tint of pink on her cheeks.
He was blushing, too.
And he couldn't think straight.
And maybe if he had been thinking straight, he would've remembered that Leo was out of town that week.
And the two teenagers walked holding hands, into the unknown.
