"Tony!" I yelled. The big black dog with blood red eyes spotted me.

Shit.

"TONY!" I found him lying a few feet away from the big pine tree. I sprinted towards him, and wasted no time in throwing him over my shoulder. I ran back as fast as I could with the satyr, and I heard a deep, angry growl right behind me.

I swerved to the left just in time and saw the hound scratching at the ground aggressively with it's razor sharp claws.

I slowly walked around the monster and ran towards the tree, and as I got closer, I coukd make out the silhouettes of people moving around. I sighed in relief, running faster, which was pretty hard with the extra weight of a whole ass person. He may look skinny, but that boy -or half boy- was not light.

I ran past the tree, finally, and a few campers saw us all dirty and smelly, and ran forward.

Just as I was about to lie there and sleep forever, I heard that goddamn growl and sighed in exasperation.

You're not gone yet?

I grabbed an arrow from a boy and almost laughed at his reaction. I turned, aimed at the dog, and before it could pounce, I threw the arrow with all my might and watched as it lodged itself in the monster's head. With a shrill scream, it turned to dust.

I spun around and saw the faces of the unfamiliar campers. I realized how exhausted I was once the adrenaline washed away. I caught the eye of Tony, smiled, and landed face first on the ground.

The last thing I remembered was the taste of dirt.

It did not taste good.

~~~
I woke up and immediately squinted as the glaring sun glared right at my fucking face. I groaned and slowly got up, propped up on my elbows and looked around. I was lying in a soft, fluffy bed with atleast 7 pillows  surrounding me. My vision was a bit hazy, but I could still make put the green hills around me. Kids from 8 to 20 of age roamed around, playing volleyball or climbing some sort of a mountain which was pouring....was that lava?
"Thank the gods, you're awake." I heard a voice say.
"Tony!" I croaked.
I saw Tony walking towards me. He held a long glass filled with swirling liquid. He gave it to me.
"Drink this." He helped me up.
I drank the liquid through a pink straw, and immediately gagged.
"God, why the hell does this juice taste like roasted chicken?!" I screamed.
"It tastes like your favorite food." He sighed, rubbing his face. I noticed dark bags under his eyes and gave him a once-over. He had light, red scars littered on his arms, and his legs....Well, they were as furry as ever.
"I still can't believe you're a donkey."
"GOAT! I'm half goat. Donkeys hate us." He waved his arms around like a lunatic.
I held up my hands, "Okay."
He sighed again, "How are you feeling?"
"Peachy." I flexed my shoulders, trying to act cool. Inside, I was freaking out. What was that thing that attacked us? What is this place? Why is he half donkey?
The last question bothered me the most.
"Satyrs are real? And that monster...what's happening, Tony?" I could barely control the tremor in my voice.
He looked at me in the eye, as if he was gonna reveal a dark secret. He took a deep breath, exhaled, and grabbed my shoulders.
His eyes were wide when he said, "Chiron will explain."
