Flowers ❧ (Tanjiro x fem!reader)

Zenitsu

"WAITTT BUT I NEED A WIFEEEE!!!" he screamed.

Wtf is going on?

"Hey! Calm down sir, we are going on a mission and we need to get there fast! Would you like to come with us?" I ask, trying to change the subject.

He blushed and said," As long as a pretty lady like you is there then yes~!"

I awkwardly laugh and say," Ok well... let's go!"

We all started to walk to our next destination. We went into a forest and then we saw two little kids shaking in fear.

Oh my gosh! I wonder what happened to them.

"Hey! Are you guys alright?" I asked but it ended up making them shake even more.

I frown and try to look for a pretty flower somewhere since I couldn't find one that meant I had to make one. I made them an Anemone, which symbolizes protection, and got closer to them.

"Look! Aren't they pretty?" I ask as I show them the flower. They looked at the flower and then looked back at me. The little girl smiles a little bit and takes the flower in her hands. "Pretty," she said.

Tanjiro started to blush a little, he thought it was super cute how she could make the kids feel better. He was also a little bit jealous that he didn't get a flower too.

I smile and pat both of their heads. "Is it ok if I ask what happened? Why were you guys so scared?" I ask them.

"They look at each other and then look back at me. "Our brother was taken by a monster into that scary house," the little boy said.

I turn around and look at the house. I see so a demon took their brother away. Let's hope he's still alive.

"Alright! We will save your brother! Just stay here outside where it's safe!" I say.

"And I'll leave this box here with you guys, what's in the box I value more than my life. It will protect you," Tanjiro said.

Aww, that's adorable!

And with that, we left them and started to go towards the house. Once we got close, a man got thrown out of a window. He looked very injured and when he fell to the floor I could already tell he was beyond saving.

I really hope this isn't their brother.

I got close to the man as he said his final words. I started to cry a little, how can demons just kill people without even caring? How could they be so heartless?

I gave the man a daffodil and prayed. Tanjiro prayed for the man as well but even though he felt bad for him, he still felt jealous and he didn't know why. Why is he so jealous when y/n pays attention or is really nice to other guys. He didn't understand what was happening. Did he like her? Did he just not like the guys? Who knows. All he knows is that he feels something.

"Is this their brother?" I ask Tanjiro. He looked at the kids and they shook their heads. "No."

"Alright, well time to get in the house now!" I say as I change my mood from sad to confident.

That's one thing he really admired about her, she could push her feelings aside for a battle, making it almost impossible for her to get sidetracked or distracted. He also thought that the determined look on her face was gorgeous.

I started to walk towards the door and once I was there, I opened it. Immediately we started to hear drums. But where was it coming from?

"Do you guys hear that?" Zenitsu asked.

"Yea, it sounds like a drum," I reply.

We walked inside the house and started to look around. Suddenly we heard the drum again and the location of the rooms changed.

I look back at Tanjiro and see the two kids behind him. "Wait, what are you guys doing here?" I ask, worried.

"The...box started to make...noises."

Jeez, that's because Nezuko is in there.

We started to explore the place. I felt the presence of more than one demon. The little girl and boy walked behind me.

Tanjiro, the little girl, and I walk into a room. Once we did we heard another drum and the rooms changed. Wait.

"Zenitsu!!! Where are you!??!" I ask but don't get a response back.

"Crapppppp," I mumble.

"It's ok y/n! We will kill the demons in no time! And we can get back to them once we finish!" Tanjiro tries to cheer me up.

"You're right!" I reply.

Then we started walking around again and went into a room. Once we went in there we heard loud footsteps.

The little girl hid behind me, and Tanjiro stepped in front of me, getting in his stance. (Aww mom and dad protecting the little kiddddd)

The demon then showed itself and stared into the distance. I held my breath in and tried to cover the little girl's eyes so that she wouldn't look at the demon.

Before I do so, I look at her, smile, and then mouth the words," it's ok!"

She calmed down and grabbed onto my leg lightly.

Out of nowhere, Tanjiro lunged at the demon and tried to kill it. It obviously moved but instead of trying to hit him, he struck one of the many drums that were on his body.

Once he did, the room turned. I quickly held onto the little girl so that she wouldn't fall and landed on what is now the floor of the room.

So those drums make the surroundings move? Hmm.

He struck a different drum and then 3 call marks appeared on the floor right next to me.

So it doesn't just move the surroundings. It can also be used to attack. How will we fight him? 

I looked at the demon to see if I remembered which one he struck the first time to turn the room. It looked as if one of his drums were missing. Hmm, that's weird.

I look around to see if there is any place where I can get this little girl to safety. The only door that leads outside of the room is blocked by the demon and since it can move the room, getting her behind an object won't really help either.

Tanjiro almost hits the demon and then before he does the rooms change again. Now we are in a different location- wait. There is another person here, someone other than Zenitsu and the little boy. Could this be their brother?

I look at Tanjiro and see him sniffing the air. I think he can tell there is someone else here too.

"Should we go check who it is?" I ask and he nods.

We both walk into the room and see a boy in the middle with a drum, about to hit it.

"NO NO! STOP! We are here to help!" I say.

He looks at us and then relaxes. When I look down at the little girl I see a smile on her face. She ran to the boy and hugged him. Aww.
