~These are thoughts~

We've been practicing like crazy to perfect our receives. After practice on Monday we were all just hanging out when I heard someone mention Ushiwaka.

~Flashback to last year~

"The girl is making you soft Wakatoshi, you need to stop seeing her, and that's final," Coach Washijo said, "It's for your own good."

I walked around from the corner I was hiding and went to find Tendo. I found him raiding the cafeteria. I opened the door and he whipped around to see me crying my eyes out. He dropped his snacks and crushed me in a hug. "He told Wakatoshi about dumping you didn't he?" He asked as he sat me on the counter. I nodded my head. We spent the night talking about random stuff and eating all of the school's snacks.

Little did I know he was going to get me expelled just to save his "star player".

~Flashback over~

"So to beat Nekoma, we have to beat them first," Hinata asked. "There are a lot of other powerhouse schools," Keishin said. "But Shiratorazowa is the biggest threat based off of last year," Suga added.

"Thank for stating the obvious Suga. There are other powerhouses like Wakutani South, which has excellent defense and solidarity. Date Tech's been called the Iron Wall because they have higher blocks than anyone else around. From what I understand these guys beat us two to nothing in the public prefectural tournament this past March. They lost to Shiratorazowa in the third round. That's why they aren't seeded this year. Aoba Johsai lead by Tooru Oikawa, he is one of the best all around players in the prefecture. They ranked in last year's top four as well. Last but not least, Shiratorazowa headed up by the famous ace, Ushiwaka. I'll give you more details later. Anyway, those are the four teams we need to look out for," Keishin said as he put his papers in his pocket.

Takeda came running in with the roster for Prelims. We were most likely going to play Date Tech in round two. Tsukishima also noticed the Aoba Johsai was seeded in our block this year. Our first match was against Tokonami, and we were going to win.

We spent the next weeks practicing two hours before school, and about three hours after school. We also had Saturday practices most weekends as well. We were trying so many new things and starting to work better as a team.

We were at practice when I had an idea, "Keishin and Kageyama come here." "What if I get a high receive, you fake a set and hit it instead," I said to them. "It would be very rare, but it would come in handy for jump floaters or high serves," I looked at Keishin for his approval. Kageyama and I worked on that for a week until we were confident enough to use it in a game.  We ended practice and I walked over to Yams and handed him a note.

Yams-

I know you feel like you don't have anything to offer to the team. Go to Shimada Mart and talk to Shimada from the Neighborhood Association. He can teach you how to do a jump float.

We continued to practice receiving, hand signs, combos, and back attacks for weeks. It was finally the day before Prelims. Keishin decided to let us out early, but Takeda stopped us saying there was one more comment, and it was from Kiyoko.

"I'm not the best with words so I kinda did something," She walked over to the railing that leads upstairs, "If you please Takeda." "Of course," he replied and followed her up the ladder. Takeda carried up a giant piece of black fabric. "What is that thing?" Noya asked. They flipped the banner over the railing. It said FLY across the middle. "I found it while I was cleaning up so I thought I would wash it," she said not making eye contact. "THANK KIYOKO WE'RE SO FIRED UP AND READY FOR THE GAME NOW!" Tanaka and Noya yelled at the same time. Daichi stopped the from yelling anymore, "Stop guys, I think there is something else," Daichi said. "Yo-You can do it."

Daichi, Suga, Noya, Asahi, Tanaka, and I all had steam come out of our eyes. The five started crying and I just passed out. I woke up to being thrown in the air by Suga and Asahi. I was so moved because Kiyoko is also in class 3-5 so we have all the same classes and spend our days together. Once we went home I packed up my bags, laid out my clothes, and then went to bed.

I started to walk to school went I looked up and saw Daichi, Asahi, and Suga there as well. "Hey," we all said in the most awkward tone on Earth.

We continued to walk in silence until Asahi opened his mouth, "So it loo-" "Don't even say it." "Do not say it." Daichi and Suga said at the same time. "You were going to go on about how this our last tournament or something really sappy weren't you?" Daichi asked him. "Oh come on what's so sad about it? I had this whole conversation planned and how it was going to hype us up again," He said as he started to get defensive. "You know, I still don't get it. You look like a thirty year old man, but you are softer than half the female population," I said as I shook my head. Suga had to put his hands on his knees to try and get air back into his lungs, I made him laugh a little to hard.

Once everyone had arrived we got on the bus and buckled in for the long ride to the gym where they were being held.

We arrived at about ten in the morning and heard these two guys say we were "The Wingless Crows. Tanaka tried to fight them and Daichi made him apologize. He threatened to get Tanaka a leash if he couldn't keep himself together.

We walked in and heard everyone talking about Asahi, and the rumors they made. He stopped walking for a second, and then they saw me. The people around us wouldn't shut up about how The Black Swan is now at Karasuno.

I rolled my eyes at how no  one even tries to his how they talk about us.
