Nate's POV

It's been a couple months since the breakup, Cody has been distancing himself from everyone even Maxx and Zach. Danny is being less clingy to me, I guess he doesn't like me as much as I thought or....I don't know. I was kinda nervous since prom was just around the corner. I wanted to ask Danny but at the same time I wasn't even sure if I wanted to go myself. Besides I'm pretty sure there's a lot of people asking him already and for all I know he could have said yes to one of them.

I ran a hand through my hair as I walked the halls. I heard people yelling and girls laughing. I ignored them until I overheard someone. "Wait, you asked Danny to prom? Like, Daniel Murillo? What did he say?" a guy asked, trying to hold back a laugh. "Little bitch said no, said he was wanting to go with someone else" "Who do you think it is?" "I don't know, from what I heard from Gabriella it could be anyone" I just rolled my eyes and continued on. I walked to my locker amd got my stuff for chemistry before closing the door and walking to class. I walked in and instantly met eyes with Danny. He blushed as he looked down before starting to doodle. I shook my head and smiled. I walked over and sat in front of him. I tried to speak but some asshole cut me off, sitting beside Danny and grabbed his hands, making him turn towards him. "Hey Danny, what do you think about going to the prom with me?" he asked, Danny just looked down. "I-I....uhhh" he trailed off, looking at me. He gave me a look that told me he wanted help. I just froze, not knowing what to do. "Oh come on, pretty sure you'd win prom queen with your gorgeous looks" he smirked. "I don't think that's possible since I'm a guy" "So what?" "Look, I-I don't want to go to prom with you....I'm sorry" he frowned. "Well fine be that way" he scoffed. He got up and muttered something that made me want to punch him in the jaw. I looked at Danny who seemed upset.

"Why didn't you say anything?" he asked, staring at me. I just shrugged. He looked down and it seemed like he was on the verge of tears. I felt guilt wash over me. I went to speak but was cut off by Jordan. "Sup boys, y'all going to prom?" he asked, smiling. Danny shook his head. He looked up before quickly turning away as a tear slipped. "Danny what's wrong?" Jordan asked, lowering his voice. Danny didn't say anything, he just stood and ran out. I sighed before deciding to follow him.

I went out into the hallway seeing Danny run into the boys' restroom so I went in aswell. I heard one of the stall doors close and lock so I walked over to that one and knocked a few times. "Danny open up" I said. All I could hear was his whimpers. "G-Go away....I-I-I don't want to talk to you" he said, clearly choking back sobs. "Danny, I'm not going anywhere until I know you're okay" "I'm fine, I promise" "Lies, if you were fine you wouldn't be in here crying now would you?" I asked, raising a brow. "N-No.....why do you care?" "Because you're my friend and I lo-...look, Danny just please come out I feel really weird talking to you like this" "Like what?" "Ya know, through a stall, it's awkward" I heard him giggle. "Y-Yeah, you're right" The door unlocked and he stepped out with a weak smile. "Danny.....there's something I want to ask you and I"m pretty sure you're tired of hearing this question but...." "Hmm?" "Will you go to prom with me?" I asked, he smiled wide. "Yes, of course I'd love nothing more Nate" he exclaimed, hugging me. I chuckled hugging the smaller boy back.

We went back to class earning looks from our classmates and teacher except he had a more worried look while the other students had disgust. "You feeling better Daniel?' he asked, he nodded. "Yes, sir" he said, he smiled. "Well, that's good. Thank you Nathan for staying with him" he said I nodded.

We sat down and Jordan instantly attacked us with questions. All being what happened and if we were "hooking up" I rolled my eyes at that one. "Jordan stop being weird" Danny giggled. I smiled at him, placing a hand on his. He looked at our hands with a soft smile.
