In a few days, Daemon recovered from his injury and was able to move without feeling dizzy. All thanks to Scarlett, he could finally resume his plan now.

He thinks back to the boring days lying in bed listening to Scarlett talking. Pretending to smile and laugh all to gain her trust...it was just an act right? That awkwardness around her, those affectionate gestures, it was simply him playing the role of a hopeless boy in love. Yea, that's what it was. He wanted nothing to do with her except to take out her eyeball.... That had been his agenda the moment she entered his house and it's not going to change now! But for the present moment, he needed some distraction as he thought of his next move.

Looking around the living room, he regards the animal’s cages. Their liveliness was visible from the way all of them were chirping and cuddling to each other... god, he hated any sort of noise. Anything resembling happiness made him even angrier. That girl must have fed them well to make them all act that way.

Well, it was time to change that. His hands had been aching to scorch out something for so long, but before that, Scarlett needed to leave for a while.

"Hey Scarlett," he calls out to her. "Could you-?"

Before he could complete his question, Scarlett interrupts him with a worried look, "Daemon, I'm sorry I have to leave right now! It's really urgent! I will try to be back in a few hours."

And off she departed with her raven locks bouncing on her shoulder and a navy dress flowing as she shut off the door to his house.

What the hell? He hoped she hadn't discovered his plan... no, that's not possible. Her expressions were more worried than fearful. He wondered what made her leave so quickly.

Anyways, motioning his eyes back to the cages, it was a perfect timing for the deed he was about to commit.

Two hours later, Daemon was still staring at the white, fluffy rabbit, lying dead in his hands. He had tried to gouge its eyes out, yet once again, the soul of the damned thing left its body in a matter of minutes.

Often times he wondered why he kept on doing these experiments. The pathetic creatures always ended up dying, with him flushing their bodies in the toilet angrily.

Though sometimes with anger, jealousy also formed in his heart as he looked at the motionless creature that was able to escape the excruciating pain while him...he was stuck with his misery forever. But of course, he never admitted this thought in consciousness.

Annoyed out of his mind, he notices the time. It had been more than four hours and Scarlett still hadn't returned. It was making him worried and she didn't even bother telling him where she was heading to.

Wait. Did he just say he was worried for her? No, he didn't care where she went. Smirking to himself, he thinks, 'this only gives me more time to perfect the plan I have for her.'

His injury had saved her this time, but next time, he would make sure everything went according to his will.

It was 11:30 at night and Scarlett still hadn't returned to his house. Now her absence was really making him nervous. What if something happened to her? She had seemed awfully upset while leaving.

He sprints to the main door of his house in a pair of dark blue jeans and a violet polo shirt. A rush of strong, freezing wind greets him as he opens the door.

Darn. It was cold.

Grabbing a black hoodie from his cupboard, he runs to the door. Damn it! Now where does that girl live? Going back inside, he searches for the school directory. He couldn't even remember the last time he touched it or even used it. It was probably safe enough to say that Daemon never had any friends outside of school.

"Scarlett, Scarlett, Scarlett," his voice repeats her name over and over again as his fingers trace around the page containing the numerous names of students in his class. After a bit of shuffling though the pages, he finally managed to find her address and copied it onto a piece of paper.

Making sure Daemon didn't forget anything else, he dashes to her house in sheer haste. Upon his arrival, he notices the front door to be wide open. Walking a couple steps inside, he calls out her name.

No reply.

He tries a couple more times, getting louder each time, yet nobody answers back. Imbued with worry, he searches every room in the house getting increasingly annoyed as no trace of anything living is found.

It was obvious she wasn't here. He saunters outside the house while shutting the door behind him in agitation.

"Where the hell are you, Scarlett? " he yells in the open surrounding.
