It had been days since he and scarlet had been friends... Yes, his friend. But deep inside him, he knew that something between them was about to blossom. He could not understand how Scarlett managed to produce within him such distant and old feelings which he used to feel back then-Those feelings of trust and peace yet somehow something strange. Around her, he would feel uneasy because of his strong heartbeat, almost as if his heart was telling him something. He felt his heart beating fast, deep inside, making him feel more human and less like a monster by the days. Scarlett had changed some part of him, which he could not pinpoint; however somehow, he was able to trust others again.
"Gosh look at the weird guy." one of his classmates whispered so loud that he could swear she was trying to capture Daemon's attention. Nevertheless, he kept staring at the door of his classroom. He didn't know why or since when did he start this weird mannerism of just staring at objects.
"Let him be. Probably scheming another weird thing. I don't understand why the school allowed such a freak to enroll here. Isn't there any school for them?" the boy said.
'Yeah. Aren't there any schools for freaks as stupid as you? Ignorant.' He thought to himself while staring aimlessly at the door. However, whatever these idiots say, they could not ruin his good mood. Normally, he would give them malicious glares with silent messages like, 'You could make a good human experiment.' He smiled at himself unconsciously as he counts another weird trait he found today. Is this how that innocent angel can change a monster like him?
Raven hair. They caught his eye and he immediately shifts his focus and found someone similar to Scarlett. Oh, not again. He feels his heart pounding fast against his chest.
Scarlett... Yes, her name was enough to make him notice the beating heart inside him. He had his first friend. Someone he could smile genuinely at. He would do his best to make her happy, just to make her stay like that forever...
Beautiful innocent eyes that showered so much kindness and peace... Those eyes were enough to calm the storm inside him. She was enough to bury the past... The past--no! I have buried it deep into the tombs of hell! Daemon screamed in the back of his mind as he puts his forehead into his hand. He would not let his past haunt him ever again! No...
"Daemon? Daemon, are you alright?" the voice he had always wanted to hear saved him again from his misery. He looked up and found Scarlett staring genuinely with concern for him. It made his heart skip a beat just by feeling how she cared for him.
"Sc-scarlet! I... I-uh... Okay--I mean. I'm okay." He stuttered. This was weird. He never lost his composure to anybody. It was his heart that made him do it. He was feeling weird and tight, yet happy and dreamy just from her mere presence.
"Just a moment ago... You seemed to be in distress. Are you sure?" She said and tried to touch his forehead. Once her warm soft hands touched him, his heart started beating strangely. It went loud and a bit fast, skipping a lot of beats. He started to feel overly happy and excited yet uneasy.
"Sure. I'm okay... Scarlet..." he continued and tried to look away to remove her soft hands but, once her hands were off his forehead, he felt a wave of disappointment wash over him. Oh my god... what's wrong with me?
"O-okay... B-but if something's bothering you... feel free to tell me? I am so thankful for you to be there for me, Daemon..." Scarlet responded with a shy smile. She is so beautiful... Daemon thought to himself as he stared deeply into her eyes.
