TW: Anorexia is a serious eating disorder and condition. If this makes you uncomfortable, please don't read.
A nasogastric tube is a special tube that carries food and medicine to the stomach through the nose.
*Sorry in advance, this is shorter than I planned*

Beep... Beep... Beep...
The heart monitor sounds in the background. I lie in a hospital bed with a white hospital-fitted gown. Required by the doctors and nurses, I have a nasogastric tube. The last thing I remembered was becoming light-headed and passing out. My boyfriend was there and rushed me to the hospital.
Once I woke up, doctors entered my room. The doctors said it was caused by my body trying to consume any energy it can find. Beaking down fat, muscle, bone, or tissue to get energy. In other words, I wasn't eating enough food to maintain my body. Resulting in dizziness and fainting.
After multiple tests, they diagnosed me with Anorexia Nervosa. An emotional disorder characterized by an obsessive desire to lose weight by refusing to eat. Even if it was expected, it wasn't any less of a shock.
I tune out the noises, just focusing on the white wall in front of me. My face remains neutral as a nurse enters through the door. My hands are in my lap.
"You have a visitor," they say with a gentle voice before walking out. The door remains open as a figure enters the room. I glance in the direction but quickly refocus my eyes on the wall, seeing my concerned boyfriend. In the corner of my eye, I see him walk up to my bedside before sitting in a chair beside my bed.
"Mesh'la?" Rex's voice breaks the silence. My gaze only lowers to my lap, not responding. He tries again but instead of vocalizing his worries, he places his hands on top of mine. Squeezing them reassuringly, tears start to form in the corner of my eyes.
"I'm sorry," my voice comes out in nothing more than a low whisper. I slowly turn my head, finally meeting his soft stare.
"You have nothing to apologize about," Rex says, my brain is not completely comprehending his words. My thoughts running a million miles a minute.
"I do though. For everything, for me," Rex gives a confused look before I continue, "You have to deal with me and my issues."
"Oh mesh'la, being with you is all that matters to me," Rex says affectionately.
"Even though it includes me sitting in a hospital bed?" I say my tears start running down my cheeks.
"No matter what, you're stuck with me," he says wiping away my tears with a small smile. A smile I couldn't return, still insecure about my current situation. His hand stays caressing my cheek while the other continues gently squeezing my hands.
"B-but I have this stupid tube in my nose and a d-disorder," I stutter, quickly removing one of my hands from his grip. Reaching up, I attempt to pull the tube out, only for him to stop me. The hand that was previously holding my cheek in one quick moment grabs my wrist. My hand wrapped around the clear tube.
"Please don't," he begs in a whisper, "I don't care about the tube or why you're here."
"B-But-" I try to make out words but none come out. Rex interrupts me, gently shushing my stuttering. Gathering both my hands into his. He brings them up to his mouth, kissing them affectionately.
"Mesh'la, all I know is that we can make it through this together."

*A/N: I plan on posting a Padawan story on Wattpad called "The Apprentice". This story has no love interest (as of now). It will be following my OC, Veronica Skylar as she becomes a Padawan under Jedi Master, Obi-wan Kenobi. The story will take place at the beginning of Clone Wars. Chapters will start up later when I finish editing. Hope you guys stick around. I'm so thankful for you all! ❤️*
