"That's messed up man," Ryan reprimanded. Alex just continued taking his drink. He didn't even know why he had told Ryan about it. "Seriously you have to own up to your feelings dude."
"I really don't think that's necessary. It's going to pass."
"Is that what you really you think?" Ryan asked in disbelief. "I know that Ryan. And can you please drop this?"
Ryan nodded his head in resignation, "fine. I'll drop it, but you can't keep lying to yourself dude."
Kim waltzed in while they were still talking. "Hi," she greeted Ryan.
"Kim right?" Ryan asked giving her his dimpled smile. Kim smiled back. "The one and only."
Alex cleared his throat feeling jealous. She shifted her gaze to him, seeming to notice him for the first time.
"Good morning Sir." She greeted smiling at him.
"Follow me," he instructed simply, already walking to the room. He folded his arms, waiting for her to come in. Gently, she opened the door. She took quiet steps towards him.
"Sit," he told her. She obeyed almost immediately.
"Did I do something wrong?" She asked confused.
"No," he answered putting his hands in his pockets. "On the contrary, we have some serious matters to attend to, didn't want to waste any time." "Alright," she replied unconvinced.
"Without further ado, I have an appointment with a designer today and you'll be showcasing your P.A. skills."
"Family function?"
"No." Reaching into his drawer, he brought out a paper, and thrusted it to her, "that's my schedule. I need you to go through it thoroughly. I might need certain adjustments to it." She went through the schedule, her brows knotted in concentration.
He used the time to check out her outfit while she went through the schedule. The gown hugged her figure like a second skin but not in a seductive way. She tied her hair up in a ponytail exposing her slender neck. To think that others would be staring at it and her, made him livid. He felt like taking off her hair band.
"Can I have this?" She asked interrupting his train of thoughts. "Sure, you're my P.A. after all."
"It says here that your movie premiere is next week Friday." "Is that why you have the appointment today?"
"Yes Kimberley, it's right there on the schedule isn't it?" "I just wanted to confirm."
"You have anything else to confirm?" He asked sarcastically.
"No." She answered. But she looked up at him on second thought. "Actually there is something I need to confirm."
Alex just raised his brows, waiting for her to continue. She stood up nervously. "I um, you've been cold." "Okay?"
"It makes me wonder if I had dreamt of that night in Santorini. I don't get why you seem even colder."
He actually wished that night was a dream. If it was, it would have been a damn good dream. "Do you always get so attached after one kiss?"
Kim bit her lips hurt. "No I don't."
"You remember the sixth rule I gave right?"
"The same rule you broke", Kim said almost raising her voice. "It's not okay for me to initiate body contact with you, but it's okay for you to do so."
"I'm really sorry for that." He knew she was really annoyed. He had no excuse for kissing her. He obviously had feelings for her, but he didn't want to keep stringing her along. He was incapable of loving her or anyone for that matter.
"I don't need your damn apology Alex. Was it why you made that rule in the first place? To take advantage of me?" By now the tears were threatening to fall off her eyes.
"I'm not going to lie to you Kimberley, I wanted you badly in Santorini, but I just considered it as a harmless fling. And I didn't want to take advantage of your drunk state," he paused placing his hands on her shoulders. "And no I never wanted to take advantage of you. But that's all in the past now, that feeling is long dead."
Kim shrugged his hands off. She scoffed at his statement. "What happens in Greece stays in Greece right?"
He looked straight into her eyes which was deep with darkness.
He was sure she hated him right now. Heck, he hated himself too, but it was for the best. It would save them both the stress in the long run. "Yes and I believe you would be professional about the whole thing."
"I can be professional about it Sir," she said in mockery.
"Once again I'm sorry about what happened and about everything that followed too. Stringing you along was unintentionally, I really do regret it."
"I don't," she whispered, but quickly averted her gaze. He didn't regret that night either. If anything there was a way of making it happen again he wouldn't mind. Just looking at her was enough to send him in a frenzy. How badly he wanted to kiss that frown off her face.
"We're good right?"
Squaring her shoulders, she stood up straight. "Yes we are. What time are we leaving for your appointment?"
"You're the P.A. Kimberley not me. I'm not going to be paying you $4000 for this."
She checked the schedule again, trying to memorize the little information she could. She cleared her throat.
"The appointment is by 9 am, we should leave here thirty minutes before that time. You have almost an hour to kill."
He looked at her admiringly but quickly concealed it. "Aren't you forgetting something?"
Kim checked the schedule again confused. "Am I?" "My outfit?"
Her mouth formed an 'o' shape. "Right. That's your closet right?"
"Is there anyone I'm not aware of?" He asked watching her scramble to the closet. She turned around to give him a sour look.
He sat on the bed, go through his closet deep in concentration.
"You have almost same colours of shirts," she complained. "I like it that way."
"You have to be versatile. Try bold colours too. I'm sure you would look good in them."
"Well, that's why I have you here right?"
He saw her pause at his statement. But continued what she was doing immediately.
"We're going shopping then, after your appointment."
"First of all", Alex stated not liking the idea of shopping with her. It was already difficult seeing her standing in the same space as her and having to pretend about his feelings. "Who's going to pay for it? And don't you think I have other important things to do?"
She whipped her head to look at him, her ponytail bouncing. "You're paying Sir. And no, you have no important commitments."
"You're really not backing down from this?" She shook her head, continuing her rampage.
He
She turned around to look at him. "Of course I would be there with you. I'm the one choosing the outfits remember?"
He gave her a smug look, lifting a brow.
She blushed. "Oh no. I won't be able to afford the kind of clothes we would see at your boutique."
"Who said anything about you paying?" "I can't accept that Sir."
"You're my employee Kimberley and if you're going to be my P.A. you have to dress the pact. And would you stop with the Sir, especially when we're alone, it's creepy."
"Still.."
"What did I tell you about talking back?" He interrupted her.
"I'm sorry Sir." He cleared his throat at her. "I'm sorry, Alex."
"We're making progress. I'll just go shower." He said taking off his shirt. "Are you doing that now?" She shrieked.
