King Adigun yanked at the under part of the pants which Suraj had acquired and could swear something was moving in it.
"It does not feel as comfortable as it looks", the King protested.
"You aren't meant to look comfortable, my Lord", Suraj reminded him. "You cannot tug at your... well, you cannot do that in public unless you want people to take note of us as two odd pairs moving around".
The pants tightened around his crotch and the turban on his head felt rather loose because Suraj needed it to droop downwards a little and cover the black skin around his forehead. Nothing about the disguise was comfortable but the King would brave it for a day or two until they made out how things truly was around them.
"How do we get past the guards?" King Adigun asked.
"There is an exit spot right out the back and we can use it without getting seen. I have seen some of the maids sneak food out of there late into the night", Suraj explained.
King Adigun looked confused about why the maids will sneak out food when there was abundance for them to take from. More so, he had not restricted them to what they could eat or the number of times they could feed themselves.
"It is not about you, my lord. They have supervisors who will not make it easy on them if they were caught with much more food than has been allocated to them", Suraj said.
"Then I must speak with these said supervisors!" he demanded.
Suraj held both hands up in protest, "We must face that which is important first, and then we can come back to the other one later".
King Adigun agreed and adjusted his turban as best as it could even while he could clearly feel an itch growing in his scalp.
"This is going to be harder than I assumed", he grumbled as they tailed their way down the hallway.
"It is really nice to see you in such pump because of Queen Ambika Diva though. I never knew you to have this in you, my lord", Suraj giggled excitedly.
Smacking Suraj at the back of his head, King Adigun mumbled, "If my testicles fall off because of these cursed pants, I am killing you myself. Yes, Queen Ambika does make me want to feel and see things in ways I never did before. Her delicious food also has a role to play in all of this".
Suraj shook his head while he headed towards what looked like an abandoned trap door. He leaned into it and it budged, granting the King safe passage before it slammed shut behind them at the moment they stepped out. The duo paused and stared at the rocky grounds before them. Kind Adigun looked past the rocky grounds and towards the bustling market square first, before looking back at Suraj.
"Are those people?" the King asked in surprise.
The numbers of people parading the market square and going about their business made it look impossible to pull off.
"They are going to recognize me", King Adigun sounded in paranoia. "They are going to recognize me from the moment I step foot in that place".
"Of course they would not", Suraj said. "This should keep your face hidden well enough and as long as you wrap that scarf around your arms and keep your feet tucked into those socks".
King Adigun stared at the scrummy looking beards that had a plethora of dirt tucked into it.
"There is no chance in hell that I will be putting that on my face!" he protested. "We might as well just go back right now!"
"Ambika Devi's food and putting on the beards, or no food from the Queen and not putting on the beards", Suraj cruelly reminded the King. "Which is it going to be?"
