Her last words stayed with him forever as he dwelled on them.
"Please Tom. If you leave me n-now...I have no-one!!!" she cried uncontrollably while clinging onto his shirt.
"I have to Dahlia- Please this won't make it any easier for me. I'll be bac...
"Miss West please do look into the papers assigned."
Dahlia sighed and nodded to her boss before taking a step out and sinking into the leather chair. A splitting headache with a workload under due dates? Definitely not the kind of "perfect weekend" she was planning.
Struggling to keep her eyes open, Dahlia barely had enough coffee next to her. On cue a nice cup of iced coffee was placed beside her as she slowly looked up at those mysterious eyes that she was yet to uncover.
"Here you go" his mellifluous voice brought a rushing warmth and happiness as Dahlia's lips curved into a soft smile at his unexpected appearance.
"What are you doing here?"
"I called you like ten times and you weren't picking up."
Dahlia's eyes widened as she looked at her phone. Yep she knew it. Dead.
"Ahh! It's dead?!"
"Obviously. I got freaked out for no reason at all."
Dahlia adored the little pout that shone on his already perfect face as she regarded him with a look of concern.
"You seem upset. And I mean not because of me not picking up my phone. Did anything happen?"
Tom's expression changed as the little pout now replaced with pursed lips and sparkling eyes now shifted to a cold steely glare.
"Nothing" he grunted yet obviously Dahlia knew the obvious lie.
"Don't lie." she urged him to speak yet Tom raised his hand silencing her.
"I said I'm fine Dahlia. God." he whispered before his eyes shot up realising the harsh comment of his.
With embarrassment sprawled all over his face, he slowly looked up at the auburn eyes who had no emotion filled in them. Her eyes bored into his as she opened her lips to speak.
"Sorry that I cared. Goodbye Tom. See you later." She spoke out before taking her exit quick enough before Tom could even reply.
"Idiot! You fucked up!" he slapped his head in annoyance while watching your slumped figure walk away as his thoughts raced.
'I'll apologise and make it right.' Tom thought out while taking the same exit yet the complete opposite direction towards his home.

"People are always rude I guess. They do eventually show their true colours." An exasperated sigh left Dahlia's lips as she roamed the city in spite of the upcoming heavy rain.
Pulling her coat even tighter, she let herself loosen up on the streets of New York while trying to enjoy the joyous crowd and the placid evening that followed. Every voice matched in sync with a beautiful melody. New York was definitely her place. Yes bad memories lay here on this very city yet something about this city was worth experiencing the pain. Whether it was her job or just the fact that she has had some good memories here she didn't know. Yet it was the place she'd rather be during her last dying breath, in the arms of her loving husband. If she ever finds one.
Awakening from her thoughts, Dahlia realised she walked further away from her home than she should have. Quickly retracing her steps, a sudden boom of thunder freezed her on the spot. Thunder wasn't really much to worry. Nor was she afraid. But with thunder usually meant rain and she had no raincoat or an umbrella to keep her dry.
That's when a sudden drop of water landed on her cheek as she looked up to feel the heavy downpour that slowly made its way. Having no store to keep shelter, she urged on, forcing her feet to go faster. Unexpectedly the rain stopped. Or atleast it stopped on her head.
Turning around, the same well-built muscular figure leaned over covering her with his jacket. Their faces now inches away, Dahlia could hear his and her own heart, beating rhythmically while the noise of the heavy rain drowned out.
They were both in their own little world not realising that that was the night where a little annoying thing called 'feelings' would make its way into their hearts...
