"How is it like? Working at my company?" Tom sliced the steak and glancing at her from time to time. "It's amazing love. Truly." Dahlia smiled. "Too stressful already?" Dahlia shook her head. "No. I have friends" she smiled and Tom noticed a tiny dimple. It was tiny indeed but he knew just how happy she was.

He stood up, walked over to her side and bent down. "What are you--" he kissed her, wiping away the sauce on the side of her lip too.

"What was that for?" He smiled ar her flustered state and he say back down before continuing to indulge himself in the delicacies.

"No reason"

Dahlia smiled and continued eating too.

After their date

"So? Did you enjoy it?" He glanced at her with a hopeful expression but Dahlia stopped in her tracks.

"I didn't much" She turned to see his pout and giggled playfully. "Oh god you're adorable. Like it? I loved it so much!" She ruffled his hair, pecking his cheek and continued walking.

"I hate you" he mumbled but Dahlia clearly heard it and smiled to herself.

"It's a peaceful evening right?" She leaned by the railing and her eyes focused on the city that lay far ahead of them. "It's even more peaceful now" Tom stared at her.

"You know Tom, I love the city" The wind brushed her aside, tickling her cheeks but Dahlia continued on.

"Do you know why? Because of the daily hustle. I matured too quickly. By seven, I could pretty much go around anywhere on my own. By twelve, I had even saved up enough money. I didn't have friends. My family became strangers. Everything was foggy and unclear. Then those darn panic attacks came. They became friends with me. I let them into my life, they had control over my life. You know...like toxic friends. I barely remember any happy memories from the past. But why I love the city is of the noise. Because everyone just minds their own business. No-one dares to look at me with pitiful eyes like I came from the trash. It's noisy and peaceful. I can stay hidden."

Dahlia stopped and turned to face him. "Sorry" she shyly rubbed her nape but he pulled her closer. "Don't be. I want to know everything about you. Everything. Your pain, your strength, your weakness everything" He pleasantly smiled and Dahlia closed her eyes, soaking in the beautiful night with the one she loved the most.

Memories flashed.
Screams rung in her ears.
Her vision slowly blurred.

Last she heard were just muffled audios of Tom and she remembered blacking out.
