Ever since the party, Tom's thoughts overflowed with just a single entity. A single person.

Dahlia.

It was like a magnet. Everytime he managed to shrug her off away from his thoughts, he found himself being pulled back. He wondered whether she ate, whether she slept well, whether she had anymore nightmares. His worry for her never suspended but they kept intensifying.

Finally he had enough of his idiotic brain.

Grabbing his phone and wallet, he rushed down the stairs of his company without having a thought that he had an elevator, when the poor guards tried to keep pace with the scurrying built figure.

"You don't have to come" he added, raising his palm causing the guards to freeze on their spot.

"I'll go alone thanks" With that Tom rushed outside, with a weird excitement fiddling in him that he had no clue where it was coming from. Hitting the accelerator with a spreading giddiness, he speeded up into the city but made sure not to go beyond the speed limit.

"Miss West"

The sudden earthy voice shook her from her thoughts when her eyes landed on the owner of the voice.

A small smile hastened to meet her lips when she bowed towards the smiling figure.

"Mr Evans! What an unexpected surprise! Great to see you sir."

"You too Dahlia! I tried finding you on my last visit here but I think you took a day off."

"Oh..You wanted to see me sir?"

"Well I was kind of hoping to have a quick word with you if that's alright?"

"Most certainly. Just give me a moment Mr Evans. I have to inform my boss."

Nodding, Chris walked away nonchalantly but a flustered Dahlia kept fanning herself to cool her nerves.

"Shit shit shit. Oh god he's scary. Okay calm down Dahlia. Get a grip."

"Hey D!!"

There it was. The voice that she knew so damn well like the back of her palm. Without any other thought, she threw herself onto him, catching him in surprise.

But he didn't fail to embrace her. His arms caught her the instant she landed on him. He saw her just two days ago but he missed her like hell. Two days felt like two centuries.

Dahlia on the other hand, was perfectly content under his embrace. He had a way with her, to make her calm, to make her joyful. Whenever she and him were together, it just felt like all was well.

Dahlia sensed him slowly pulling away so she tightened her grip on him. His strong cologne washed over her, loosening her tensed nerves.

Ever so gently, like she was a glass piece, he let his fingers rake through her silky smooth straight her.

"Hey...You okay?" He whispered in an undertone, partially worried but his other half was dying to never let her figure go.

"Mmhm...I just missed you" Dahlia buried deep into his chest, just accepting his warmth that rushed through her veins.

The pair stayed for awhile longer, both holding onto what was their guardian angel.

Dahlia loosened her a grip after few minutes but immediately missed his warmth. Yet it took all her self-control not to spring herself onto him yet again.

"Oh shit!" Dahlia squealed, frightening a poor Tom.

"Oh my god Mr Evans! I totally forgot! Shit! Okay Tom stay here! I have to meet someone up at the terrace." yelled a panicked Dahlia who rushed away speedily, pushing past a few employers and apologizing swiftly.
