Sangwoo headed to the beach, hoping he'd be able to find some solace. He walked all the way, his anger making the distance seem small.
By the time he reached his destination, it had become dark. Strangely enough, the brunette didn't feel scared or uneasy. Rather, the darkness afforded him some much needed tranquility. This was the calmest he'd felt since before he'd met Suho.
As Sangwoo looked at the water before him, he thought about the moments he'd shared with Suho. Sure, he'd never said the 'L' word to the other in all that time, but the way they interacted made him feel like it was love.
What had gone wrong?
Had he been too naive?
Had he not been doing enough?
As the silent tears made their way down his face, Sangwoo thought back to the first time he'd met Suho in that lunch hall.
Had that been premeditated too?
Had it all been a set up?
Had he just been a pawn in Suho's heartbreaking game of chess?
He hiccuped, the realization that he'd been cheated on finally coming in full force. Sitting on his knees, he hid his face in his hands.
"Why, Suho? Why? What was the reason?" he wailed.
The only sounds audible were those of cars and the sea.
Sangwoo couldn't understand why. For the life of him, he couldn't understand. What had he done to upset Suho? He'd listened and allowed himself to be manipulated so that the relationship could survive, and all for what?
"FUCK!" he screamed, pounding his fists into the sand. The sting from the sand cutting into his knuckles was nothing compared to the sting of heartbreak he was feeling.
The weeping male looked at the sea once again. He stepped closer to the water, stepping out of his shoes and slipping off his shirt. It seemed to invite him to lose himself and at the same time, find himself and cleanse the dirt of his previous experiences. He undid his belt, letting out a relieved breath because it had been feeling like a corset that had restricted his airflow.
As Sangwoo ran toward the waves, he spread his arms. He dove into the water, feeling the cold temperature hit his body. It felt freeing.
He raked a hand through his hair, sweeping it off his forehead. He submerged himself into the water. Closing his eyes, he thought about his breakup and all the bad memories he had.
The lies.
The tears.
The toxic turn that the relationship had taken.
The pain he'd gone through because of all of Suho's little mind games.
Sangwoo let it all go, feeling all of the weight leave his body, almost as if some sort of boulder had been lifted off his shoulders. He rose to the surface, sucking in a huge breath and blinking his eyes. Walking back to dry land, he flopped down to sit on the sand.
